Oh thank God! I've been waiting forever to get another console so I can play the same 6 games I've been playing since 1995...
At least they come out with another sequel every 5 years so it feels different instead of releasing a new game every 1 or 2 (cod, assassins creed, ect) Who cares if they use the same game ips if they feel different every time?

There are 9 Mario Kart games. Same characters. Same powerups. Same tracks.

They have "the same tracks" because they reuse the most popular tracks from earlier games, but they release more than 16 maps in the new game alone, and powerups are at least similar because it's a series and it stays consistent
And the new game has several new powerups, so okay

I have no idea how same characters is a complaint (even though they did add a few new ones) but I know the new one had new power ups and they definitely make new tracks.
I'll only get a Wii U due to the large amount of exclusive games it will likely have. I have a PC that does everything else.
There will be an emulator very soon after it's release like there was with the Wii.
At most a year after.

To be fair, though, if it's coded anything like Dolphin, initial versions will chug like fuck on anything graphics intensive.

Yea but it would take a monster of a machine to run on. There is a reason no one emulates xbox and ps3 games.

There's one for each console over 20 years.

Plus saying every Mario kart is the same is just ignorant, Mario Kart: Double Dash for the GC plays absolutely nothing like Mario kart Wii, which both play almost nothing like Mario Kart DS
(though Wii and DS do play pretty similar in some ways, DD plays absolutely nothing like any other, especially since the emphasis is on two player co-op)

No, emulating the Wii is easy as pie. Always was too. It literally is like an overclocked Gamecube (Dolphin emulates both). You guys should check it out:

'cept you know, the Wii U is a major upgrade from it's predecessors.
not going to buy a nintendo home console after they fucking abandoned the wii
but ill def check it out
By the way, that Zelda demo was only in 720p.
With No AA at a measly 30 fps.
Yeah no.

Yea but I was talking about the wiiu. The reason why people are able to run the wii emulator (and even then you need a good pc) is because it was so behind. The wiiu on the other hand wont so it will be very difficult. Expect to see ps3 and xbox 360 emulators way before we are able to emulate the wiiU.

I don't recall the 3DS failing.

You can't even notice AA on console games if you're sitting far enough from the TV.

If you've played Mirror's Edge on PS3, you'd know sometimes it gets really noticeable.
Why?
they're one of the only companies left with gimmicky consoles and the same IP they've been using for the past two decades
Similar architecture, similar system. An emu will still be made fast.
Similar architecture, similar system. An emu will still be made fast.
Again the difference being that the wii was outdated by a lot hardware wise. We can emulate ps2 games because they are easy to run but the reason we don't emulate ps3 games is because it would take a monster of a machine to handle. It doesn't matter if the wiiu is like the wii as long as its more powerful then a ps3 its going to take some time to emulate.
Similar architecture, similar system. An emu will still be made fast.
You have no idea how much raw power emulation needs do you? You'd need something along the line of a 30ghz processor to run an xbox 360 or a PS3 emulator. And the Wii U is even more powerful than that.
i'm so tired of nintendo hate because it's not SUPER 1337 HARDCORE
seriously, i've never had as much fun on any console compared to a nintendo one. the first party games completely justify the lack of third party support, and now that major third parties are developing for the wii u, i can't wait.
Nintendo haters are just jealous that their consoles will never experience the orgasmic wonder that is the Smash Bros. series
I hope this actually turns out to be really nice, because the last actual useful thing Nintendo released (in my opinion), was the GBA SP. Also hope it will have Super Smash Bros, and some sort of Pokemon game.

Those have more difficult architectures (especially the PS3). Wii U will be similar to the Wii most likely.
Also note there is virtually no demand for a 360 emu.

And what of the fact that it takes on hell of a machine to run a current Wii emulator smoothly?
