Got banned from Steam? ALL your games are now unplayable, and Valve says you can't still sell/trade them in
Getting VAC banned doesn't do that at all (User was permabanned for this post ("alt of Vintage Thatguy" - postal))
what? it only effects the game if has a clause in the agreement stating such to be the case ie downloadable games. obviously when you buy a physical game there is no license involved. Now as far as xbox one is concerned, we have not seen the EULA for any of their games or the console itself so that is all pure speculation.
EULA's aren't legally binding contacts as far as the court system is concerned, because you never actually signed anything. An EULA can say whatever the fuck it wants to but it's just a ton of useless words that don't hold up under the law.
I remember a story about someone getting banned because they mentioned they were gay or something in their live bio.
http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2009/02/xbox-live-bans/ Funny thing, I was banned for a day for praising lesbians
what makes you think this? other than "lel valve is better"
Can I add you on steam? Basically what I want to do is show you that you can have a steam name such as "FUCK FUCK FUCK fuck fuck (fuck)", and then sling obscenities at you for about twenty minutes. That right there? Totally gets you banned on XBOX Live.
Oh yeah because I should totally be able to lose all of my games just because some 12 year old gave me bad reputation, totally reasonable there microsoft. [editline]15th June 2013[/editline] I mean apparently 35% of people gave me bad rep for being "unsporting" whatever that is supposed to mean.
With the xbox one? Yeah. If they have a system in place that forces retail games to only be played on a certain account then a CD key needs to be tied to an account, because DRM isn't magic. So it makes sense to go on and say that if the account that got tied to the CD key got banned, the physical copy of the game would be useless because A: The account tied to the key got banned and B: you don't have another key to activate the game with. That's assuming MS still goes with the game restrictions. EDIT: Here's some spaghetti sauce if you want it http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2013/05/xbox-one-analysis/ Account gets banned = physical copy is a very light paperweight.
"what follows naturally" = they are speculating. If it is a loophole, sure, or if it has implications that aren't legal (like saying "you can't sue us") but the "license" section of the EULA is clear as day.
I hope microsoft fixs and realize their mistakes about the xbox one. But we all know that won't happen.
If you're banned, you won't lose access to your games. And interview with major nelson confirms this. I don't have the video atm due to my shitty android phone, but it's true. How about yall do your Damn research before making dumb assumptions

[editline]15th June 2013[/editline] its the second question asked. [editline]15th June 2013[/editline] listen to the always connected stuff as well. The always online aspects really aren't all that bad. People are just bitching and being misinformed. A lot of it is due to miscommunication, but the xbox one isn't as terrible as people are making it out to be. gotta stay informed
Interesting, I wonder why Microsoft couldn't confirm this on twitter then...
I'm not 100% but I believe that the US supreme court has stated that EULA's are in no way a binding contract.
The courts in EU has.
Interesting, I wonder why Microsoft couldn't confirm this on twitter then...
because that twitter is for xbox live support ie xbox 360? it totally unrelated. think about it [editline]15th June 2013[/editline]
I'm not 100% but I believe that the US supreme court has stated that EULA's are in no way a binding contract.
they are not 100% unbreakable or enforceable, certainly, but they are still a written agreement
It's almost impossible to get banned from Steam, unless you actually deserve it. So unless you're a proper cunt then you have nothing to worry about
Valve does make mistakes though, and can ban wrongly. The difference is, they seem to be respondent to support, and will unban if you can prove them wrong.
Valve does make mistakes though, and can ban wrongly.
they are not 100% unbreakable or enforceable, certainly, but they are still a written agreement
EU courts deemed them to have all the legal power of toilet paper.
Getting VAC banned doesn't do that at all
You can be banned from steam if you violate the TOA. All of your games are removed and you lose access to your account

He actually thinks before he opens his mouth instead of saying something stupid and cringe-worthy.

Microsoft's advertisement for pre-ordering on xbox.com says it all really.

It only considers people who actually submitted reputations. So, like, probably two of five people that gave you reputation said you have offensive language.
EU courts deemed them to have all the legal power of toilet paper.
in some cases. one ruling is not universal
You can be banned from steam if you violate the TOA. All of your games are removed and you lose access to your account
To be banned from steam takes considerable effort, whereas on xbox live you can be banned for saying "join my hacked lobby in cod" via messages, and not even having hacked lobbies or anything (this has actually happened) The only way I know to be banned on steam is to hack on your multiplayer games, and if you do that you're a massive cockbag anyway
And we also know we can't trade in games because they are fucking digital, something we don't really expect on a console. [editline]15th June 2013[/editline] Weird. I cheated on non-VAC servers only long time ago on CSCZ, and I got banned within a week.
thats called using bad public cheats anyone who can make their own or cocksuck a coder is basically invincible to VAC because it relies heavily on specifically identifying known cheats its other methods are useless against anyone who knows even remotely what theyre doing but things like proxifier get caught in the crossfire because they aren't cheats and thus don't hide their hooking
I had like a 40% reputation for offensive language or something like that
65% for Unsporting behaviour ooh yeah. I'm pretty sure that is from refusing to run around and spin like a retard in COD.
65% for Unsporting behaviour ooh yeah. I'm pretty sure that is from refusing to run around and spin like a retard in COD.
stfu camper noob post ur montages so we can see how bad u r... unlesss.... u have non because no1 wants 2 watch someone sit in a corner? NOOB!!!!
65% for Unsporting behaviour ooh yeah. I'm pretty sure that is from refusing to run around and spin like a retard in COD.
To be honest, I think the statistics are not real. You get positive feedback when someone votes up or doesn't vote at all which is total bullshit. Everyone I know never gives someone feedback at all. I'm really far in the negative even though Im 80% most people don't even give feedback.
hacking on multiplayer games doesn't get you banned, it gets you VAC banned. to be banned from steam in general takes a little more than considerable effort.
Oops, my bad How do you even get banned fully from steam then?
