With all these people getting BF2142, maybe we should have an FP game
too bad there's only like 7 servers online
everyone should grab it so we can do a facepunch plays of it
it runs on a potato and is fun as hell
and you can go around piloting METAL GEAR???
METAL GEAAAAAAAAAAR
Everything is up in the air at this point.
If they ban/delete accounts, they're going to lose a lot of customers. Hell, I legitimately owned quite a few games on Origin (Nothing compared to steam, but a good 10 or so games).
They won't see a single purchase from me again on their service. I'm sure EA will have to consider that when deciding how best to respond to this. Maybe they'll only go after the worst offenders similar to the Steam Christmas event.
EDIT: To be clear, they can remove the games from people's account if they want to, but I bet that's easier said then done. Still, while I can't comprehend how many free games were given out, if they took it as a loss and played it cool, this could possibly work in their favor. Rather that then risk a shit storm.
Woo, got BC2, BC2: Vietnam, and Mirror's Edge
This is why buying from digital download services fucks you over, because they can take away what you own at anytime
No they can't legally, the only reason we are losing it now is because we are getting them unfairly.
DOESNT WORK ANYMORE IT IS NOW A PERCENT OFF CODE
It literally just worked for me. I got BF 2142.

I would say they should just do nothing and swallow the loss, but then their CEO would only get to take home $1,995,000 instead of $2,000,000 this year. He would never let that happen.

But... SimCity is Origin exclusive! I'd be so conflicted if this happens...
I would totally use this code on Sim City, sure it wouldn't be free but it wouldn't be 50 dollars that's for sure.

How long ago? This just started happening...

It was maybe 30 seconds before I made the post you quoted.
It won't work twice on one account.. I used http://store.origin.com/?ipr=ty .

That's what I'm hoping. I edited my post, but EA could possibly come out looking good in all this if they only go after new Origin accounts made to get these games. While they would still suffer a big loss, it's not going to affect them that much in the long run.
On the other hand, punishing people for their mistake could be a nightmare for EA, especially given their reputation on the internet.
EDIT: And really, how did it take them this long to respond. One time the Ubisoft store messed up in the dead of night and was selling a ton, if not all, of their games for $1 USD, and it was fixed really quick. This code was exploitable like all day today.

Just make another account.
rofl seriously
it's so much more slow than steam on a summer sale
also like, 5-6 pages and literally NO sims 2 or even 1... but they have DLC for sims 2 out the ass
yeah not like steam goes down on sales either rofl
yeah not like steam goes down on sales either rofl
actually I never really have steam issues personally, even on sales
guess I'm lucky :v:
slowed downloads but mainly pretty much solid.

Pfff, It's $88 in Australia for the normal edition. It's freaking stupid how we pay so much more.
BF2 Complete (4th or 5th copy, I got like 5 of the physical copies for 10$ once), BF2142, and MOH Airborne.
Also I think they fixed all the exploits.
One and only thing I like about Origin is that my downloads there are WAY faster. I get 2.5 Mbs while on steam it stays at 1.3Mbs.

That's because no one uses Origin. :v:

Even then, it's WAY better then what I get on Steam. Which is sad cause I use Steam more.
Can anyone confirm if being logged out while applying the code still works?
(eg: be logged out, apply code, checkout, login, have game)
Wow. Talk about self entitlement.
If people got banned it's their fucking fault. They knew they were exploiting the system. How is it EA's fault? Sure there was a glitch on their part, but are you going to seriously tell me that you thought that the infinite 20% off coupon was a legit deal while you giggled and smirked as you purchased as many games with it as you could before it was fixed?

outright banning everyone regardless of anything instead of just removing the games and making it have not happened
yeah makes perfect sense!
except the fact that people will get pissed off and as a business move that's stupid, even if you're right, people will still be pissed. It's their fault for having a bad system, if theres an exploit people WILL use it.
In fact, the fact steam didn't ban people in that dirt 3 issue, will just make them look insanely bad if they banned people.

We shouldn't get banned for their mistake. We did no modification to anything. We just used what they gave us.
Max they should do is remove the games gotten with it.

lol wow, I love it when people try and argue that mistakes on someone's part equivocate to them giving you the right to exploit that mistake without consequence

I actually didn't exploit anything. My copy of 2142 wont download anymore. It says it's Invalid. (I have the original 2142, not deluxe). As for MoH and BF2, I used the coupon on two existing accounts I had.
