hurr Israel survives off the half a billion the US gives to their $242b gdp, cutting that off would surely doom them. not like they have one of the largest weapons and high-tech industrys in the world or anything.
It sends a message that the U.S. isn't going to support them if they pull that kind of move. The U.S. has been sucking Israel's dick ever since it came into existence. Why not give it a bite when they decide to act like one? And you're not even taking into account how much of their GDP they put into defense in the first place. Besides, if they're so incredibly rich and independent like you say, then why do we need to help them? They're big boys, they can fight their own wars if they're really so inclined.
There's nowhere near enough evidence of nuclear weapons in Iran to warrant this. If they can produce concrete evidence that Iran is making a nuclear weapon, then I could understand, but such evidence doesn't exist.
Kinda hard to enrich Uranium when the US is installing viruses and spamming their computers with AC/DC :v:
Of course Israel is a major "pro-America" player in the Middle East, that is why the U.S. needs to be firm with them. If they end up getting themselves into a war, they risk themselves getting weakened pr even destroyed (though the chances of that are incredibly low), and thus weakening our influence in the area. Next, I know that not all aid goes to the military, and I know the 500 million that you claim is going into the military isn't exactly huge when compared to the 14 billion they spend. The whole point is to show the U.S.'s distaste in their decision. Also, it doesn't matter how big of an ally the U.S. is. If they make a move that they disagree with, they have full rights to show protest against it. If they openly invade another country, why should we support said invasion if we don't agree with such aggressive action? I'm not saying don't defend them against attacks, I'm saying don't support their attacks against other countries if you don't agree with them invading. It's being more of a "massive cunt" to force your ally to fight a war you don't want to fight then not helping your ally invade a country when you don't want to do it. And for the love of god, don't call me a "fuckwit". If you're not going to be mature enough to debate calmly, then please do not debate at all. Regardless of whether or not I'm right, insulting me to undermine my opinion is just rude and won't make me or anyone else accept your argument.
It's funny how Iran isn't the outwardly aggressive force in the middle-east (beyond protecting what they see as their sovereignty a la Persian Gulf). At this point even if they had nuclear weapons it wouldn't change much.
