• US goverment Shuts down 84,000 Websites "By Mistake"

If I was a small business owner and someone took down my site and replaced it with this sort of slander I would be furious, accident or not.
Alot of dodgy shit gets passed though in the name of such things as fighting child pronography and terrorism. I guess it could be an accident but if there's anything we've learnt from the last few years (and months) it's not to trust the official explanation.
Sorry, I got a little hyped up there. The part I bolded is extremely true. I'm just tired of people thinking everything's a conspiracy theory and our government is overly oppressive.
And replaced with a big notice implying that they traffic child porn Many of these sites belonged to small businesses, so think of how damaging that could be
Can the businesses get the websites back?
Can the businesses get the websites back?
They already have.
Not everything is goddamned government conspiracy. I'll say this again: My country is not run by fucking Cobra Commander.
I would, however, totally vote for him.
As part of “Operation Save Our Children” ICE’s Cyber Crimes Center...
Saving our children... after they've been raped.
Yes it's a mistake, but it's a dumb mistake that shows incompetence rather than trust. Atleast a good conspiracy shows the government has brains. Pity it's usually not the case :smug:
instead of taking down childporn.com, lets take out the ENTIRE .com! save our children!
AndysWorldofTopiary.com thought they could brazenly stand up to the government censorship police and get away with it. They were wrong.

Taking down child porn sites has nothing to do with censorship - it's about 'protecting children', which is a good thing. However, I would much rather see the budget stripped from this scheme of 'taking naughty pictures off the Internet' to social services and child protection officers - you'know, the people who can PREVENT harm to children.
United States is full of morons.
They didn't shut down Pornhub did they? DID THEY?!
You're right. It's run by dumbasses.
Whats the difference?
