oh god hopefully it isn't scary as much as AOM :ohdear:
Age of mythology ?
Half Life: Opposing Forces the guy getting thrown through the window by your zombfied brother. When I played that for the first time I shat myself.
The only truly scary places for me in the Half Life series were Ravenholm and a few scattered scenes in Ep1/2. Half Life 1, not so much. As long as the plot and experience are still amazing, screw scares.
well think back to when it came out. when it came out, it had quite a few horror scenes, but by today's standards of game and horror games, you can't even really tell it was a horror game (it was). same thing goes with all of the DOOM games. all of them, DOOM 3 included, when DOOM 3 came out everyone was like HOLY SHIT WHAT WAS THAT and then a few years later it became the "in" thing to say it wasn't scary at all, which on the first playthough today is still at least a little scary. [editline]03:33PM[/editline] What scares them? The fading of their own abilities. Such as? Well, I haven't been able to see my own genitals for years, and every day it scares the shit out of me.
HELL YEAH! I always liked half life for its emotional feel, EP 2 seemed dead on the emotional stick.
We definetely need some more Ravenholm moments. No underwater levels though, I can't take Ichthyosaurs :ohdear: Also, reminded me of this clip from the leak: What the fuck man, what the fuck.
I remember Ravenholm.I was like 8 or 9, and i was so flooking scared, my dad had to finish it for me.(He is an AWESOME gamer by the way)
Ep1 scared the fuck out of me Stalkers and the train, in AM hours is fucking terrifying
There's lots of scary parts in the games already. Every time I play them I find something new. Ravenholm, don't need to say anything. But what about right at the very start, at the first encounter of the helicopter, when you go into the grimy passage ways, and one corner is a burnt out fire, the other side is dead corpse. Or when you go under the ledge and destroy the box, corpse just come out of no where. I'm suprised no one mentioned the tunnels in EP1, where you need to use your flashlight, I got to that part late at night and was jumping in my seat when I had to recharge the battery, turn it on and fine alyx being mauled and a zombie in my face. I can't remember many scary parts in EP2. The antlion guard part was more of an adrenaline rush, even though it did give small shocks of scares. Parts of it were too expected, like before you get the jalopy, there's a fast zombie in the dumpster, or zombies that come out of the toxic waste, it was too expected. The hunter shit me up though at the beginning, right before alyx gets attacked. You pull the lever or what ever, turn around and there it is looking at you.
He feels as though the series has recently gotten a bit off track
:v:
If they can make the next game scarier than the Cardle level in Thief then I'll literally unload a tank of diarrhea in my pants [editline]12:00AM[/editline] Actually it was more creepy. Good thing it was only 2AM when I got to that level. :geno: [editline]12:01AM[/editline]
If they can make the next game scarier than the Cradle level in Thief then I'll literally unload a tank of diarrhea in my pants [editline]12:00AM[/editline] Actually it was more creepy.
HELL YEAH! I always liked half life for its emotional feel, EP 2 seemed dead on the emotional stick.
what no, specifically the emotional stick spiked at the end y'know
Dammit I just realized I can't edit stupid trying to fix misspelled things routine
This could probably mean new npcs :)
Headcrab in the vent in Half Life. Players know what I'm talking about
The one in the goddamned flooded room? D:
I indirectly blame Gmod. It's made a mockery of the characters and enemies so much so they aren't at all impressive anymore.
Bring back the Ichthyosaur, that should give people a good shock. Like swimming at the top of a deep pool of water and it quickly eats you. [editline]04:58PM[/editline] Personally, I found the Hunter quite frightening, the really sneak up on you.
We actually don't care so long as it says Half-Life 2 Episode 3 on the box and it actually comes out before we all die.
Half-life 2 was originally gonna be much scarier than it is now. Supposed to have explained the combine draining resources from the earth and replacing the oxygen with toxic gasses.
When Edge asked what scares them the most, he had a particularly dark answer: "The death of their children. The fading of their own abilities." Perhaps gordon loses the suit?
Episode 3 takes place 100 years in the future with Gordon and Alyx's child dying then Gordon takes up the HEV suit once again to fight the things that killed his kid but long term stasis has made him frail.

I'd like to point out that if loosing Eli was gruesome, then imagine a helpless kid dieing.

That fucking vortigaunt at the top of the Ladder in Episode 2.
That fucking vortigaunt at the top of the Ladder in Episode 2.
LOL i wasn't even paying attention so this didn't scare me, but i can see how it'd fuck people up, some people even reported jumping back into the water
LOL i wasn't even paying attention so this didn't scare me, but i can see how it'd fuck people up, some people even reported jumping back into the water
I fell all the way back down.
That's just so funny, they didn't even intend for it to scare you like that, and yet some people freaked out and jumped.
Gman would be the godfather.
He would be a terrible godfather. Gordon's children would wake up and Gman would be looming over their bed, saying: "Rise and shine Gordon Jr.. Wake up and smell the pancakes..."

When the zombie came flying down the stairs in Half Life 2 I shit bricks.
