You SERIOUSLY think Rockstar has removed all traces of funny dialogue from every ped in the game just because they decided to make the gang members say things gang members would actually say?
I honestly can't tell if you're trolling or just stupid.
just stupid, clearly
I think OP just trolled everyone. Can't find a post here that ignores what he says and just praises R*
Its nothing to worry about. I don't see this being a bad thing either to have real gang members voice act. I'm sure they have their crazy moments when they shout of the first thing that pops into their head when they are behind the microphone too.
I really don't see how this is a bad thing at all, it's in fact an amazing thing they're even doing this to begin with. As long as they get the proper voice actors, it doesn't matter who the hell they got to voice the characters the way I see it.
If Rockstar asked me to do a voiceover in one of their games I'd be pumped

you're obviously not looking very well, considering the second post of the thread is just that
this just made me want the game even more. GTAIV was fantastic because of how serious it was. there is nothing funnier than launching niko down the street in a motorcycle crash in the middle of a serious mission. you've made many videos demonstrating how comedic it is to interrupt the tone of the game. the seriousness gives purpose and context to the fucking-around. without it you just get...saints row 3.
holy shit I am getting fucking bombed for this topic
and I thought people would agree with me, what was I thinking
hahahahahahahahahahaha

Saints Row 2 was the perfect blend of serious, silly and dramatic. Grand Theft Auto 4 was just so serious that the story became boring. That, and way too much of it was dialogue and not things actually happening.
GTA V does look like it will have a lot of silliness with the Jack Nicholson-esque character though.

Did you ever even pay attention to the dialogue?
Like, at all? It's funny as hell.
I don't get why everyone bitches about the story so much. Only problem was that you started off limited to one island. Don't like driving around to get from place to place? Don't play the story. Shit, I've hardly touched TBoGT or TLaD.
Were rating the OP dumb and not Rockstar right?

Just answer one question: why do you support Hitler
reich swag
I think I posted this topic in an overly disagreeable manner. But people agree that the missions in GTA 4 that half consisted of driving across the city while some character that you don't care about yammers at you was a bad thing, right? I'm not alone on that, right?
Even after I modded fucking FLYING CARS into the game, it STILL frustrated me how far you had to go from the start of some missions to get to where the mission actually took place. If GTA 5 is as big as they say, they CAN'T do that again.
What did you think of Mafia II
Big fucking deal, Vice city had a real porn actress do the voice over for candy suxxx.
Pretty sure the guy who voiced Michael Rosenberg in the gta 3 era was a jew himself.
They're just shooting for more authenticity.

Never played it, is it good?
preorder cancelled money burned purchased saints row 4 ty 4 showin me the light op
My friend has a desperation that Saints Row 4 is better than GTA 5 will ever be.
He also believes that all the random memes and randomness of SR4 is better.
He thinks after playing a black person, and some russian handicapped guy, that the GTA series was ruined.
Opinions are opinions, but man, come on.
No
I want my homeless people ranting about spies in the toilets and bystanders saying things like "CHEESY VAGINAS!"
That's part of the GTA experience for me, I don't want them to take that away
You sound like those 12 year olds who think SR4 had the best dialogue in the world.
Seriously there will still be funny silly shit, just that R* is doing it smart and have an realistic world with an huge scoop of satire. Like all GTA's.
Calm down, it is just character voices, you act like you want voices from shitty voice actors.
imagine being the kind of person who actually enjoyed the humour in saints row 3
It either took itself way too seriously or was so incredibly subtle in its self awareness that it was indistinguishable from taking itself way too seriously.
Too bad they aint gave Max Payne duel wield dildos right?
I don't really know why people would compare Saints Row 4 and GTAV, but hey, if you wanna compare a Prototype/Superhero parody with gangster crime drama just because they both have guns, vehicles and open world gameplay, have fun.
Personally I don't really care a lot about GTA5, but didn't the people who got their hands on the leaked audio files praise how good the voice overs are? I don't see how that would be a huge issue, Rockstar always had a high level of quality, so it makes sense that they want to be authentic. Doesn't mean though that everything has to be on that level, most likely they're going to retain the same balance between serious drama vs. humor as it was in GTA4.
imagine being the kind of person who actually enjoyed the humour in saints row 3
look at the saints row thread, it's hilarious - I don't know how anybody found the last two "games" (I say that because Saints Row 4 is a pathetic excuse for a game, it's just SR3 with superpowers and an even more ridiculous and terrible plotline) entertaining whatsoever
Helix is just mad because they don't have skating in GTA.
This is a step in the right direction. I remember from most GTA games (and any game in general ever) the writing sometimes feels generic, cliche and quite unauthenticated. This will allow Rockstar to make really unique dialogue with a genuine atmosphere. Very nice.

You act like anti-smoking is a good thing (that's for another time, tho)
And if you thought the drawn out sequences in gta4 were bad, you haven't seen anything yet
The average mission in mafia 2 began with you waking up, talking to someone on the phone for five minutes, going out to meet them for lunch, talking for ten minutes, driving their ass somewhere, shooting some dudes, and driving all the way back
It wouldn't be that bad if you didn't have to get out of bed, change into some clothes, and walk all the way down from the top floor of your shitty apartment building and get into your shitty car, which wastes about 15 minutes.
Say what you want about gta 4, but at least shit happened in it. Shooting people occupied about 10% of any given mission in mafia 2, and the rest was just talking and driving (although the driving physics were some of the best I've ever seen, so there's that)
SR1 was tryhard wannabe gangster and SR2 was a bit sillier and over the top. SR3 went over the top and into the atmosphere.
When SR2 got serious though it got REALLY damn serious.
So did OP just blow in from stupid town or what
