To be fair though, people all throughout this thread have been strawmanning, mis-construding, and flat out ignoring his points. I would be a little hostile too if I were him.

anyhow i'd agree about the joke thing
Those arent jokes.
How are those jokes. Theres no humor to them, theres no set up. They're not comedic. I dont know anyone who laughed at them except that one guy who tried to argue it was funny and others disagreed.
Sirius has issues reading words.
Race is irrelevant yes, but when you try to make their race relevant you are already in the "shit tier writing" grouping.
The only way you can authentically talk about homosexuality or race issues in media is by not talking about it and simply showing it.
From every example I've seen given of comics doing this they're just like "Oh I'm bi lol" or "GIRL POWER". You never do this, because it doesn't prove that a woman can be strong. All it does is make you look like a huge idiot. Instead lead by example.

If you want a powerful character of any race, you simply have them be that race. You don't use words, you don't make it a topic, you simply demonstrate a black character being strong willed and write them effectively as a character to demonstrate that yes, a black man can captain a vessel effectively and with dignity and integrity. Yes, an Asian woman can be a powerful role model and strong leader. Yes, a Jewish man is capable of incredible things. You don't say they're black unless it's truly relevant. You simply write them as a good character
You could make a story entirely about race, gender, sexuality, religion, but that's when it makes sense to discuss it as a topic, but even then you're only pandering when you mention it in conversation too open.
This is why Mass Effect has the best writing when it comes to homosexuality. They simply exist, it's natural, that's just how it is. It doesn't make some political statement. it simply is there.
You can't make a good character based on "Yeah! I'm black! Look I can do these things WHITES CAN DO TOO".

He's being "hostile" to you because you constantly strawman and ignore his posts. Learn to read.

this is a text form, his responses are completely within his control
this is a text form, his responses are completely within his control
Reading them is also within your control but you're choosing not to, yet simultaneously also choosing to respond.
this is a text form, his responses are completely within his control
Is this some type of excuse you made so you can justify ignoring counter arguments and continue strawmanning?
So is it Iron Woman now
Introducing, Margret Thatcher as IRON WOMAN
It doesn't undermine it because their race is irrelevant. Even if the intention is for it to be relevant. They're just characters
This is undermining female characters, not racial minority characters, but - did you miss that one example comic where a female superhero went on a rant of "Gee, I sure wish there were female superheroes"?
(The first page of this that Aaron posted is apparently an edit someone made to try and fix it. The real first page is even worse.)
i posted 4 hours ago, how the fuck did you people argue enough to have around 202 posts since then
i posted 4 hours ago, how the fuck did you people argue enough to have around 202 posts since then
Deliberately ignoring points to strawman and mock for various reasons, most of which are mysterious. Or just flat out being, man i dont even know.
i posted 4 hours ago, how the fuck did you people argue enough to have around 202 posts since then
Because people like strawmanning more then they like reading.
I'm just sorta disappointed around the lack of accuracy with modern times in her backstory. Are you telling me she reverse engineered an entire iron man suit and made her own on a COLLEGE STUDENT BUDGET? AT 15? Really? She must be getting mad grants to do crazy stuff like that, i imagine there must be a lot of money going into those suits. How did she get an old one in the first place? That and mad tech that must be going into it.
Reading them is also within your control but you're choosing not to, yet simultaneously also choosing to respond.
I have several times directly addressed them. Stop using this as a shield
because making a new character isn't always the best thing to do.
I think you mean "isn't always the easiest thing to do"
I have several times directly addressed them. Stop using this as a shield
No.
You havent.
Even if you did, the way you chose to express your thoughts was so incompetent that i can only assume you didnt.
And once again, i hope you're never involved in any kind of writing position in any entertainment product.
I have several times directly addressed them. Stop using this as a shield
Nothing you've said has in anyway addressed any of his points
I have several times directly addressed them. Stop using this as a shield
How can one be this deaf and yet scream so loud
I have several times directly addressed them. Stop using this as a shield
No you really haven't. All you've said has basically amounted to a child repeating the question "Why not?" over and over again regardless of the answer

are we all retarded, or did you actually not address his points?
This whole thread just shows which people don't care about Marvel comics.
The people who comes in, with no attachment to any of the characters, no understanding of how fans are attached to said characters, no idea about the writing involved and story telling, and just get up on their high horse, claim "you guys are insecure about your race, this is fine" while boldly ignoring every thoughtful and purposeful post fans have made about why they are displeased about this trend of replacing established characters with walking cardboard. People shitposting, misinterpreting posts to portray those who don't think like them as bigots, acting "progressive" just for an inflated sense of ego, wanting to feel that they are better than others because they are more "accepting" of race, when the majority of comic book fans have favorite superheroes who are of different races/sexes/genders/sexualities and are perfectly okay with the creation of new heroes of different backgrounds. These new characters replacing established characters are flat, poorly written, and solely exist to gain new fans while throwing old ones under the bus. It'd be like replacing Cyborg from Teen Titans/Justice League with a female Asian out of the blue because the old one retired or died or something, and every so often she has to remind people she's Asian mid battle and has a vagina, and by the way she's way better than the old Cyborg in every way and is totally not a Mary Sue guys, honest.
It's so pretentious. Seriously. Nobody here has any good arguments for this character change other than "why not." Blah blah blah No True Scotsman but its obvious who here reads the particular comics affected, knows who the hack writer is, and who doesn't give a crap but won't pass up an opportunity to feel superior. I mean the amount of times AaronM202 has retold his exact same points yet nobody cares enough about the topic to read it and only came into the thread to be smug is disheartening.
Pretty sure Marvel didn't write that
