It honestly all just comes down to waiting to see if it's as awful and pandery as you guys think it will be and if it is, not supporting it. All of this premature fit-throwing doesn't get you guys anywhere. And yeah Hybrid is right, like I said a few pages ago you guys aren't the lot I'm worried about because you have well-grounded concerns and actual reasons to doubt this new character, but when we say that there ARE people who are just flat out opposed to having female, black, Latino, gay, etc. characters (usually when it "replaces" old beloved characters) you need to realize that there are people who feel that way.

Here you fucking go then: - No one is upset that the character is black or that she's a woman. - People are upset that a character who has no established story or character is being created specifically to replace an existing character. - Moreover they are upset that her only defining characteristics are that she's female, black, and smarter than Tony Stark at the age of 15. - People are calling it pandering because Marvel, and Brian Michael Bendis, have a history of creating shallow token characters in an explicit attempt to pander to non-comic readers. - People are also annoyed that those who don't read comics [i]keep fucking excusing[/i] the shitty writing of a fucking hack because it aligns with their political agenda. - Finally, people are sick of ignorant fucking clowns coming in and spouting off bullshit as though they know what they're talking about. Apparently these days good writing isn't important. The only thing that matters is how dark a character's skin is, whether they've got a penis or a vagina, and who they prefer to fuck. I have never met that person. What I see, as a comic book reader, is that Marvel, pumps out garbage writing with the caveat that most of their recent garbage has been about this kind of issue, taking up the mantle or replacing a character all together, which is in and of itself [B]FINE.[/B] It's how Bendis has handled it for the entire duration of his run. Hackneyed efforts to write characters he doesn't understand come across [B]really[/B] poorly. There may be people that feel she's a bad character due to her race, that sucks and those people suck but I can't do anything about that, and buying a bad comic book to combat that sends the wrong message. Batman's new contiuntity for the mainline series has him seeking out a new sidekick. He doesn't want a new Robin. He wants to "Try something new". They get to properly handle a new character stepping into a role like this because they respected the character as a fucking person. Bendis writes Tokens. This is a character, because he has motivations and suspicions, needs and desires that seem well communicated and well thought out.
