Ultimate Spider-Man started in 2000 and ended in 2011.
It ended 5 years ago. It was followed up by a sequel comic that ended 3 years ago. And even then people agreed it was turning to shit.
Bendis used to be good over 15 years ago, but he's fucking cancer now.
This is more like Batman found a 15 year old version of himself who was actually a better Batman, than Batman ever had been
it'd be insulting to the fans
Terry was great because he struggled to earn Bruces respect, he had to struggle to be good at being Batman, and he ultimately ended up being his own version of Batman.
I hate to toot my own horn, but this is basically what's happening.
They've created a superior version of the original character as a child prodigy and it just comes across as boring writing. so yes people think it's stupid already.
i just think it is kind of insulting to women to suggest they have to appropriate an already-established male character to get any traction. wouldn't having a new character with their own identity be better than piggybacking off of a man?

It sure is good that people are talking about what Bendis has written in recent years rather than what he wrote 15 years ago then, because his recent stuff has been fucking awful.

Moon Knight? Siege? his work with GotG? Loved it all. I'm not all that unique either. Just because you and the people you talk to hate him doesn't mean ~everyone thinks he's cancer~

You're aware that he's especially despised for what he did to Guardians right?
And how can you enjoy his writing, its awful to read because he doesnt understand the strengths of the medium.

There aren't any new superheroes getting traction
There aren't any new superheroes getting traction
DO YOU KNOW WHY THAT IS?
Do you?
Its because they're not PROMOTING THEM.

uh
He fucking destroyed everything good about GOTG...
Also, yes there are.
Deadpool, in the grand scheme, is rather new, he was made around 96, Jessica Jones in the early 00s.

What? A damn good job?
yeah, I enjoy his writing. could it be that I have an opinion that differs from yours?
Hell, at Valiant, They have a new character gaining traction who's not a replacement for anyone called Faith.
Not my cup of tea, but its happening.
So there's little to no information about this character available? Awesome, a perfect reason to fly off the handle and proclaim it as the death of comic books.
Like holy shit calm the fuck down. Comics have done weird shit with their characters in the past, and generally that shit gets ignored by other writers if possible or just thrown out when they undoubtedly reboot the entire fucking universe for the billionth time to try and fix the shitty story arcs awful writers managed to jam in in such a way they couldn't avoid them.
The character not having a fully fleshed out, rebooted x times, backstory is not the end of the world, it'll be explained in the fuckin thing. The writer might have written some jank shit in the past, but his name also seems to be attached to things a sizable number of people actually enjoyed. His "comicography" is pretty large it seems (I don't really follow writers or anything so w/e).
There's a myriad of ways they can justify her using the Iron Man name for however long, if she has the blessing of Tony to take his place for whatever reason cool. If Tony just suddenly isn't Iron Man-ing it the fuck up and she sees it as a chance to *be* him, also cool. At least give the thing a chance to fucking launch before you try and tank it out of some reactionary spite towards the writer.
Comic books are dumb. This cannot be argued against. They are inherently fantastical and full of weird shit that is constantly retconned from the universe. Iron Man is still going to be plain old Iron Man for certain writers I'm sure.
What? A damn good job?
Ew, god no.
He fucking destroyed the lore and continuity of the Guardians, retconned everything he felt like, and you know why?
Because he was copying an early version of the movie script because he's a hack.
Not only that, but its full of stupid references, annoying quirks, he writes every character the same, and cant stop doing movie references.
yeah, I enjoy his writing. could it be that I have an opinion that differs from yours?
His writing is OBJECTIVELY terrible for the comic book medium.
He writes almost like a book or movie script.
In a visual medium about pictures.
if anything, Bendis saved GotG
if anything, Bendis saved GotG
He mutilated it, not saved it.
He destroyed everything good about it.

alright i'm done
fuck it
we're not allowed to talk about what bad writing a man has done before in refrence to what we expect from him because it's inconsequential and we're all insecure
It's dumb to you. It's cool to me. Differing opinions. You aren't the warden of comics.
And you aren't the ferryman of Facebook for Facepunch.
See how that works. Your point is your theoretical point doesn't have any merit. How about you stop using an external tangent to make an argumentation that doesn't exist here.
Duck M
Because you like it doesn't mean everyone is now held to your standard of what entails an argument. The argument existed of its own merit before you attempted to make it something different, where incidentally you hold the magical semantic high ground.

it's his style. There's nothing objective about it. If you don't like it you don't like it. I like it, my friends like it. Looks like it's not an objective matter.
if anything, Bendis saved GotG
you're free to think that
but his run of it was garbage to me and ruined it for me

honestly, I don't think it matters if you like his recent style of tokenism
it's just bad writing and I don't understand how someone can enjoy his recent run of tokenism that I just find purely offensive.

There is objectivity to it because the Comic medium is very specific in how it can be done right and wrong.
Frank Miller, for all he's done, is very, VERY good at it, or used to be anyway, especially in The Dark Knight Returns.

Dude. You really should follow Hex's advice and calm the fuck down. Seriously, no need to get your panties in a knot over this shit.

That's like, your opinion man!
his Richard Ryder story is a masterpiece. Lot's of people agree.

Maybe i'd relax if people would stop ignoring everything ive said to get witty zingers in.

There's no one way to do comics. You're just being pretentious here

Thats a perfect example of why he's cancer.
First off, he cared so little he misspelled it Ryder when its been Rider for decades, second, from what little i know of that story, he retconned the fuck out of so many previous stories its nigh incompatible with previous canon.

I'd be more inclined to read the thread (which I read as much as I could stand before it just repeated itself) if you weren't acting like such a god damn moron about it. Spamming shit like "readeraderaderaedrasdrerREAD" isn't going to make people want to read the thread. They're just going to see you as a fucking nut.
People have been reading the thread. People still disagree with you. Learn to accept this and actually argue or discuss with them instead of telling them "no ur wrong read the thread" all the fucking time. People might engage you more then.
