Well it really gets me if more than half of my class is full of Freshmans who play a lot of Call of Duty and talk about how awesome it was nearly everyday. I'm a Junior, I didn't take any of my Freshman classes when I was a Freshman so I have to take them this year.

Besides, if I read my facts right, then this is going to take place all over different periods of time, WW2, Vietnam, Modern etc. That's got to mean we (hopefully) won't get a story as insipid as MW2's SP.

It does look like it is set in Vietnam, just not called CoD: Vietnam.

People saying they shouldn't rush games are just saying the same thing that everyone said for L4D2, and that turned out to be good for a year's work, while I'm assuming Treyarch has been developing this for almost 2 years.

I enjoy the CoD franchise and will continue to play them because they entertain me. I find the story of the MW series to be interesting. I know there are others here that see it that way as well or there wouldn't be any threads in the CoD forum about your curiosity for the story of MW3.
Looking forward to Black Ops and can't wait for a GAMEPLAY trailer. I've never played a Vietnam game and as I said CoD entertains me so I might be planning on purchasing this.

I agree with you, I'm going to look into this because I have found CoD singleplayer to be seriously enjoyable. I don't really agree about MW2 though. I definently enjoyed it heaps and have gone back to play alot of missions again but the story was bat shit stupid. There wasn't an excuse for it either as they showed how well they could do story with CoD4. The characters were crap, the storyline was made backwards and there were cliches up the butthole. Seriously why does every single goddamn helicopter run out of fuel at the crucial moments specifically moments involving you diving off a rooftop to reach them. The term "We are bingo fuel" has lost all meaning.
So in that respect I'm not interested in MWs story, because it's really dumb. I'm hoping this new game does everything MW2 did right but just takes the time to add some respectable story telling. I think its going to be really exciting if Treyarch puts their own spin on the Cold War and Vietnam, it'll be a nice break from not-too-distant-future warfare.
Yeah the single player never really disappoints.

I thought it didn't look that bad. Looks like it's gonna be an Assassin's Creed type thing, where you're in the future and you're, like, re-living a bunch of different conflicts from the cold war. It looks like it's gonna have the same and cool Call of Duty action and that's all I want. I stopped caring about CoD's multiplayer after CoD4.

Well the end it's the perspective of an AH-1Z Cobra pilot, and that whole spaceman business looks like the pilot of an SR-71 Blackbird. Other than that its just alotta VC, hueys and macho looking special ops guys. I assume Vietnam will only be a part of the game, with the Cold War as the main focus.
