Fuck the bugs, where are our mod tools? (and on another note, why did the X-box 360 and PS3 get Dolly Cam for theater mode, while PC did not?)
Oh christ what the fuck seriously? Jesus I thought theater mode was going to be awesome on the PC and then found out it sucked, but I thought all versions were the same for it. Fuck you Treyarch. Also another thing that bothers me, the solution to the killcam stuttering was simply removing slow motion on the pc version. They also promised mod tools. WHERE ARE THEY TREYARCH? Didn't buy MW2 because I thought it was a buggy and annoying piece of shit. Bought Black Ops because it looked alright (and was pretty fun), but I'm definitely not buying the next Call of Duty game unless it is completely devoid of game breaking bugs and the PC version isn't a neglected piece of shit. Haha.
Moral of the story: don't buy COD games.
Go on TSA, let's get some of the public's money back from Activision. My grandfather works for Glamorgan Trading Standards, they do deal with stuff like this sometimes. I would say MW2 and Blops are both culprits of false advertisement and selling unfinished products. IW and Treyarch both got shat on by Kotick's regime after COD4 and had to start rushing their games, hence game breaking bugs like the 1887s and the ridiculous lag in COD7. I didn't buy Blops for the simple reason that I decided to give COD6 a chance after Robert Bowling dropped the bomb that PC would not have dedicated servers. How bad could it be, I thought? It was great. Apart from the 87s... then a month later IW brought out a bugfix patch and IWnet became total chaos with hosts and lobbies disconnecting and closing and all kinds of crap. They never acknowledged a problem and ceased communication with the PC community soon after. Something tells me Activision are trying, and failing, to kill off PC gaming. It's just a shame companies like DICE who are more dedicated to PC just can't get it right yet. Roll on BF3 I guess.
This is usually why I buy from developers I trust. Right now, EA understands what they are doing, and Activision does not.
Moral of the story: don't buy COD games.
I got what I wanted out of Black Ops, it's just a shame they didn't/don't do anything to keep it going. I'm getting really tired of developers releasing games and doing nothing to keep them alive, whether it be through active patching, or FREE content. Hell, they don't even need to do that, give mod tools to the community and we'll do it ourselves. (Here's hoping DICE doesn't fail to disappoint with BF3)
it’s ludicrous that the biggest game of 2010 should have had so many bugs, yet on the other, can we really, realistically expect games to be bug free? Where should the line be drawn?
Funny, for a company that charges an extra 10 bucks for pc they sure seem to spend very little time and money on their games. Talent is also non existent. :smug: That's right, activision dev's are shit. To answer their question straight foreward, yes it's ludicrous, and yes we can expect them to be bug free (at least for game breaking ones).

Games like Team Fortress 2 keep themselves alive with the free content they provide. Unfortunately, there are not many developers like Valve out there who will release free content. [editline]23rd January 2011[/editline] I'm assuming they are not working on the bugs is so they can focus on the next $15 DLC as well as the next Call of Duty which will come about a year after Modern Warfare 3.
Hell almost all of Valve's games have had gamebreaking bugs on release. The difference is, they get off their asses and release patches a few days after release (sometimes even the next day or two) that solves a majority of the issues. They follow up by ironing out the rest of the problems and concerns for far longer than most companies. It's ridiculous that it takes almost a month for Treyarch to release a patch on the PC that doesn't even solve some problems. My PC ran the game fine before the first patch, but after that I had constant problems. Occasionally my game would just freeze midmatch regardless of settings. It then took another month for them to address the issues again. Seriously, what do they do all day? Don't they have a dedicated team of individuals working everyday to solve issues? Obviously not, but I think it's time they take 20 people off of the next CoD game and support their current game.
I couldn't finish one of the levels because of a bug, I guess this is what happens when Treyarch is put under much more pressure than it normally is. I hope then improve on it next time round.
I hope Activision's headquarters is hit by a fucking SCUD Missile next time around.
What bugs?
i didnt have any problemns but it was also ps3 version so i could play with friends
:10bux: says that the next CoD will be released on 11/8/11 :colbert:
Why? A new one is coming out in November anyways...
Activision knew people would buy it so...
"Thanks for the money, bitches."
Watch them sell the patches for their games soon.
I don't think they should be charged for the quality of their game, they should be able to sell it in whatever condition they want without being sued for "false advertising" or whatever. Though what SHOULD happen is people notice that the company is giving shit service and stop buying from the company, simple as that.
I say this in almost every thread whenever a comment like this pops up, and I'll fucking say it again: What is acvtivision doing wrong? They're making a game for a market that demands it. If Activision is so "bad" and Bobby is so "evil" then why are they making FUCKING SHIT-TONS of cash? Because people are buying Activision games by the truckload. If you ask me, that's just good business on Bobby's part. He's tailored his company to suit his clientèle. Nothing more. I don't agree with Bobby's games, but he's making more money than you in our entire lives combined. If you want to shut Activision, get some self control and stop buying their games.
My problem isn't with the games, it is with the business strategy behind the games. If you widened your focus off of Call of Duty, you'd see that Activision runs everything into the fucking ground. Tony Hawk? They ruined it by churning out new games year after year just like they are doing with every series they have the rights to. Tony Hawk went from being incredibly popular to selling 3000 copies in opening week. Guitar Hero? Incredibly Stale. And you may have seen that company that Activision is liquidating because they cannot find a Publisher. They didn't even have a publisher before! Activision didn't advertise any of their games, hence why the suffered embarrassingly low sales. Even people on Facepunch admit that they didn't see one piece of pre release marketing material for 007: Bloodstone. Call of Duty started out fun, but now they are dumping games onto the shelves every 12 months that just features re branded game play, with almost no new changes. People buy it because they think that it is new and revolutionary, but in reality it is just the same rehashed game play that we've seen since 2007. Once people realize that Acti is selling them the same thing every year like they realized it in Tony Hawk, Call of Duty is doomed.
The only bug i experience on ps3 is lag, which isn't much of a bug but a bad server system.

The CoD clientele enjoys the same gameplay, why do you think they keep buying it year in and year out? Why change something that's been working fine for the past 4 years? Counterstrike has had the same gameplay for 11 years now and still a good portion of steam users play it (and yes some of those are because of mods like zombie and jailbreak but a good majority is still DE and CS servers.)
I had less problems with STALKER: Clear Sky and that should tell something.
Black Ops was a massive disappointment. If this goes anywhere, I hope I can get some kind of compensation or refund from the game. Unoptimized piece of shit.
I for one have several problems with black ops. I mean it is the same engine as CoD4 with slightly better graphics. how come on release day of call of duty 4 I could play maxed out and I never had a SINGLE ISSUE with the game and on Black ops I cannot even join a server before it disconnects me. Every. single. time I tried zombies because people said it didnt have as much issues. The loading screen crashed on me
Do these bugs plague the console versions as well? This sounds like a really big issue. I was thinking about buying the game for my 360, but I won't if the bugs are this bad. Jesus activision, yall would be a force to be reckoned with if you actually CARED about your games.
What if the millions of sales they get are people who like the same re hashed gameplay?
That's not what I said. Sure people might like it, but it won't stay fresh forever.
They paid a lot of attention to the XBOX 360 version but not the PC or PS3
Wouldn't surprise me if Kotick sues those people for something who are virtually yelling at him.
Wouldn't surprise me if Kotick sues those people for something who are virtually yelling at him.
No he can't. Unless those guys actually stole something
No he can't. Unless those guys actually stole something
McDonalds got successfully sued once by an irate mother because she fed her son McDonalds all the time and he got fat from it, so she blamed them. I think Activision has the power to sue people along the lines of 'false claims about our games in attempts to deflate sales' or such. Although in this case the claims aren't false. Interestingly, I could play Black Ops on my computer when I got it for Christmas. However, a processor and motherboard incident wiped my PC, meaning i've got to redownload it. Here's hoping it works again this time...
