I used to love this kind of stories back in the days i was a kid. I remember some fascinating ones about siberian dolmens being parts of misterious alien structures or something, or about hunters, that sometimes found a shelter from a blizzard in some strange caves made of metal in the middle of the taiga.
When I was first using the internet for quite awhile I'd spend most of my time reading conspiracy theories, ufo stories, mothman stuff etc.. Didn't really believe it (most stories have the same flaw, if it's a video you can simply ask "Why were you recording at the time???" if it's a text story it usually ends with a "I left and never came back because I was too scared!" or "I deleted the tapes/whatever" without providing the location of the place or anything), but one has to admit those stories can be fun to read.
My belief is that all conspiracy theories come from a completely sane person, just telling the crazy person they know some bullshit, which the crazy person actually believes, and he tells all of his other conspiracy theorists friends the conspiracy, the majority of their sources just lead to other conspiracy theorists pages and blogs. Once this circle jerk of misinformation has been going on long enough, the dumb uneducated population starts to believe it because there are enough people in the circle jerk to make it seem believable. Fuck it I might as well grab my tinfoil hat.
Honestly the conspiracy theory for the illuminati likely comes from the fact that high ranking positions are rather close knit and wary of outsiders. Even across nations just think about how many world leaders have met and talk to each other on a regular basis. Its like politics is a massive cliq to those on the outside.
Or the Soviet Air Battles against UFOs.
(the real reason IRST is on the Su-27)
We have a few great tv channels that talk about consirancy theories all the time.
Good old Ren-TV.
Anyone here actually believe in the alluminade/lizard people? I mean with a number that high, some people surely MUST.
Anyone here actually believe in the alluminade/lizard people? I mean with a number that high, some people surely MUST.
I bet lots of people answer that they believe in this shit just for fun. An actual number of these conspiracy believers is pretty low imo.

That's about the only conspiracy theory that actually holds any water.
Most people here believe in Freemasons though, not Illuminati In fact, most people don't even know who the latter are
I just thought: isn't christianity a consiprancy theory? It's all planned by someone - check You are worthless infront of some force's might - check You can't escape it - check You have to follow certain rules to fight the baddies - check You have to spread knowledge about it - check Everybody who doesn't have the same views as you is a blindman and you have to enlighten him - check
But why wouldn't you believe this? If you think about it, the general public is manipulated in specific way that even if you try to mention some conspiracy theory you're seen as a lunatic. Wasn't Barclays bank punished for massive manipulation of the banks worldwide and interest rates few years ago ( http://joemiller.us/2012/07/crime-of-the-century-libor-and-the-global-bank-conspiracy/ )? And what about those Saudis in FBI leaked files who moved out of their houses and did some stuff right before 9/11 happened ( https://news.vice.com/article/campaign-mounts-to-declassify-911-reports-references-to-alleged-saudi-involvement ) ? Or maybe that Hollywood producer who indeed turned out to be a Jewish spy? PMC Britamp leak? Not to mention the goddamn Prism program. These are all things that actually happened but most people pretty much deny them happening in their consciousness because it puts them out of their comfort zone.
Well I said I'd write something if I got enough dumbs... One question asks if you possess a belief or do not possess a belief. For me to believe something, I need to be convinced to believe it. I need to be certain to a certain degree. And if I do become convinced, I say to myself 'I now believe, but I still don't know if it's true 100%'. Since I am not convinced, I have no belief. But I can still speculate... The other question is a matter of speculation for me. It asks if an entity is real or not real and since I don't believe in one or the other, I theorize and place a bet with no certainty. If there was an "I don't know" option, I would certainly pick that one. If there wasn't an "I don't know" option, I would abstain from selecting, if possible.
Most people here believe in Freemasons though, not Illuminati In fact, most people don't even know who the latter are
But freemasons actually do exist? But when it comes to them controlling the world secretly, fuck no they don't.
I suppose growing up in a country where corruption is so rampant would make you believe so
Most people here believe in Freemasons though, not Illuminati In fact, most people don't even know who the latter are
Why wouldn't freemasons be real?
shit there's a free mason temple in my town even
But freemasons actually do exist? But when it comes to them controlling the world secretly, fuck no they don't.
they don't control the world but they sure do pull some corrupt mafia-type style bullshit here
But freemasons actually do exist? But when it comes to them controlling the world secretly, fuck no they don't.
The "secretly controlling the world" part, yeah. My apologies, I should've been more specific.

There are some theorists that are old crazy men freaking out about the antichrist and NWO, but a lot of theories hold water. It's unfortunate that the small amount of crazies ruin all credibility for any kind of speculation, though. And I'm not sure how people get the whole scam artist thing, any credible person I've seen speculating about this stuff is completely nonprofit.
shit there's a free mason temple in my town even
there's one next to a pizza place in my town
I suppose growing up in a country where corruption is so rampant would make you believe so
It's moreso that they see Russia as an underdog on the World Stage since big bad America is leading the western world. They feel the West is a threat to them because they're not buddy-buddy with them, and that belief leads to them being more open to believe conspiracies about the West creating an NWO or whatever. (I am referring to the Nationalists, of course) It doesn't even stop there, I was once told by a Russian that the West purposely extended WW2 so that Russia would suffer, then went on to start the Cold War by building up arms and ending dialog with Stalin.
