You know nothing about private schooling. *Well, yeah, but many have financial assistance solutions for students, they can be pricks about it, though. *This varies by state, and/or the administration of the school. *Not really, most private schools offer a wider range of curriculums than that of public, and some even tailor your curriculum to earn a place in your desired school of higher learning. *Once again, this is contingent on the school itself. The one I went to had a special education program far better than what I've seen in public schooling. They actually helped the kids. *Another one contingent on the school, and for most of the time, the exam is for placement, similar to a SAT. *Eh, sometimes. Any way, private schooling is far better than that of public school. But, eliminating public schooling is not the answer. It just needs a fucking whole lot of reform.
http://www.educationbug.org/a/private-schools-pros-and-cons.html This is not from me.
I'd like to see somebody argue against this rather than simply saying it's stupid.
There are plenty of private schools in America. They have a higher standard of education than public schools. I went to a secular private school for 3 years. Much higher education than public school. And there are plenty of course choices. More than public school, actually. And the reason I switched to private school after freshman year is because the school I went to closed. Along with dozens of others. Public schools have failing grades and poor budgeting. Private has the exact opposite.
Source .
Technically if all schools are private they will compete to have the lowest price. Sounds fine for cities, but holy shit small towns would get fucked over.
To be honest, if there were ways the poor could pay for this... It wouldn't be that bad. I've experienced it first hand, the Texas public school system is abysmal at best. The teachers hate it, the students hate it but the group in charge who know nothing about schooling are loving it. Private public schools would encourage school to school competition. This would also remove school districting, which is a joke. If students who's parents are poor got financial help, the idea could work
I've been to private school before. It was in most ways inferior to all the public schools that I've been to. Sure there are a lot of good private schools, but most of them are aimed at the upper/middle class.
This article was written very poorly. The candidate doesn't mean go back in time hundreds of years and discriminate against minorities and women, he means have privately owned and operated schools competing to be the best.
The United Kingdom education system shows that competition between different schools doesn't work (they're nearly all government-run, but they still compete). It creates a culture of "teaching to the test", and doesn't allow teachers much flexibility outside of the syllabus. [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] Just to clarify, schools are judged by exam results alone, not by anything else.
Keep underprivileged kids in school Keep them off the streets
Is it just me or if someone says something reflecting the ideologies of the Tea Party, he no longer represents them when he gets criticized? Teabagger:"Hey, I think we should privatize healthcare!" Some guy: "But that would make it harder for the lower class to get the help they need!" Tea Party: "Whoa who the fuck is that guy he doesn't represent us."
Hurr durr one guy's insane so don't vote for the GOP.
I Always see you post something like this when your party is attacked
Private schooling doesn't work
Private schools work excellent. Just look at me.
http://motherjones.com/politics/2010/10/david-harmer-abolish-public-schools Wow, not that I needed one but there's one more reason not to vote GOP in November. Even if you're mad at the Democrats, these guys are fucking insane. Even moreso than before, which I never thought would be possible.
It's funny how whenever a piece of news which leans toward Republican views, the source is doubted even if it's CNN, but if it's biased bullshit like this, the source is accepted without question. Way to be hypocritical, people. :downs:
Way to be irrelevant

And I think people are taking this source more seriously due to the fact the tea party is fucking crazy.
Sarah Palin was right about those death panels. Except death panels is a fancy name for insurance companies.
We don't need to Abolish the Public School Systems we need to reform them and provide them more funding so they can get better teachers and equipment. If anything needs to be abolished it's the current Political Parties.
Private schools works excellent. Just look at me.
You didn't go to school?
Hurr durr one guy's insane so don't vote for the GOP.
Right. You shouldn't vote for the GOP because the party's majority narrative is now crafted by misogynistic, racist, homophobic religious fundamentalists who also hate the poor and middle class.
Public schools have failing grades and poor budgeting. Private has the exact opposite.
hmm maybe that has something to do with public schools being poorly funded instead of some ethereal divine force that makes public schools inherently inferior hmmmmmmm
Source .
http://schoolgrades.fldoe.org/ Also, around 5-10 schools in my area closed due to a mixture of budget cuts and failing grades. [editline]14th October 2010[/editline]
hmm maybe that has something to do with public schools being poorly funded instead of some ethereal divine force that makes public schools inherently inferior hmmmmmmm
There is a correlation between poor budgets and poor grades, however there is a bigger problem. Motivation. In most American inner-city high schools, most students really just don't give a shit about school. Especially the lower class members of the school. This is attributed to gangs and other things. But really, kids just find school boring, so they don't care about their education. Trust me, I've been there. Literally nobody outside of the AP courses cared about their schooling and neither did the teachers. At my school, there was about a 40% graduation rate. All in all, bad grades are result of a mixture of poor budgeting, low motivation to learn, and a low motivation to teach. Teachers need to engage the class, and not just give lectures or be generally boring. I have noted that teachers who are less boring, have classes with better grades.
Dear god, not the middle class, those bastards, who do they think they are earning more than other people, shame on them for wanting a good education for their children.
You missed his point by a mile. The point is that most people would not be able to afford private schooling. Not everyone is as privileged as you. Also, you act like children have a choice whether they're born into a middle or upper class family. Why should a kid be punished and not able to get a good education just because they weren't born into a more privileged family?
I never said privatize it. I said reforming is the best and only option. Private schooling may be better, but most kids that go to private school have shitty social skills and usually are rich. I don't think public schools should be abolished...
I never said privatize it. I said reforming is the best and only option. Private schooling may be better, but most kids that go to private school have shitty social skills and usually are rich.
And the social skills of private school students matter... why?
Private schools exist. We also have public schools. Why do we need to abolish one so that we can have more of the other? Wouldn't there be demand for more private schools thus more private schools if any of this were true?
Why are you saying this?
Because you're a libertarian.
Because you're a libertarian.
Libertarians are like republicans without the crazy religion
And the social skills of private school students matter... why?
Because your entire life isn't spent in a classroom or cubicle. How would a person function in society if they are socially retarded.
