Fuck.
Approximately 15 9/11 attacks every year, going by the figure of 2,996 killed in the strikes.
If the near-terminal cancer doesn't kill you fast enough the crippling debt and depression will [editline]6th May 2017[/editline] After a bullet does I mean
This guy and it seems all Republicans do not take into consideration that someone with proper health care will visit a doctor more regularly than someone who does not have it. That person with health care will have a much greater chance of catching something that is potentially lethal early on when it can still be managed or even treated. This guy is thinking how hospitals will treat anyone no matter what and just completely ignoring the fact that going in for a regular check up without insurance is fucking expensive as fuck as well. Guess I just won't by another I-Phone this month.
If I was someone with a terminal illness, I would occupy this man's personal office until I died from lack of treatment. Fucking absurd. I can't even express how furious these people make me.
Haha, his name is actually Labrador. He's also as clueless as them. (labs are great dogs though)
Labs are at least as smart as a 2 year old child, more than we can say for this guy.
This just reminds me of jimmy kimmels monologue a few days ago
Technically, this is sorta true. You can go in and be treated no matter what. But there's probably exceptions and it neglects the whole crushing their family in debt thing. That means there will indubitably be cases where people opt for death.
An exception that comes to mind is anyone who needs a particular regiment of prescription medication to manage a life-threatening illness. The emergency room will take care of you and heal you if you get hit by a car, but if you long-term need insulin to manage your diabetes, or a cocktail of medications to keep your organs from shutting down, then you're shit out of luck. Better make sure you're by a hospital each time your body begins to fail.
You know in Fallout how lots of contractors helped build all the Vaults to "protect humanity" from a nuclear war? I wonder how many of those who built those Vaults actually got to stay in them, at least the 'control Vaults'. Not many I imagine. Imagine the Republican voter base are those contractors, and the GOP representatives are the Vault-Tec employees that get to stay in the good Vaults. Then realise its evven worse since Vault-Tec may not have had the nuclear launch codes themselves.
Nobody dies from lack of healthcare, they just go off to a special farm, a wonderful place where they frolic through the fields every day, and they nap in a hammock made of rainbows.
These people are murderers. No exaggeration whatsoever. They're simply letting people die so they can have EVEN MORE THAT THEY ALREADY DO. They care THAT little about us. It's fucking dystopian.
I'd like to see people like this fuck dragged out of the capital into the streets, stabbed and then refused medical care, causing him to die on a fucking sidewalk, while people walk past him indignantly. But karma doesn't exist. (User was banned for this post ("Take a break." - Bradyns))
An exception that comes to mind is anyone who needs a particular regiment of prescription medication to manage a life-threatening illness. Better make sure you're by a hospital each time your body begins to fail.
My father agreed with what this representative said, his argument being that the hospital will treat you regardless. He did conveniently leave out the pricing of prescriptions and visits though. However, he practically went his whole life without ever seeing a doctor. A couple years ago, he passed out while driving and crashed into an apartment building. Fortunately he was not injured, only the car and the apartment were damaged. It could've been a lot worse, that goes without saying. The doctors never really found out why he passed out, but they did discover he had dangerously high blood pressure for a long time. To make matters worse, they also discovered he had untreated mini-strokes and damaged kidneys. One would assume after that scare he'd start seeing a doctor regularly, but nope, his blood pressure hit dangerously high levels again and ended up back in the hospital for about a week a few months ago. I'd love to conclude this story with a happy ending, but unfortunately he still does not see a doctor regularly and his blood pressure remains high. I honestly feel if his condition worsens a third time around, he may not be as lucky as the first two times, and it terrifies me. He's a great father and person, but when it comes to health he's extremely stubborn and brushes off my concerns. He never told me the reason why he doesn't ever get a checkup, but if I were to assume I'd say the cost(s) may have something to do with it. Considering he's a single father of three making about $17 an hour and has declared bankruptcy twice, I could very well see him not having extra money. Anyway I hope sharing this story has contributed to the discussion somewhat, and that I didn't stray too far off the topic.
There should be some law in place that says that if a politician makes a provably factually incorrect statement while on TV/at a rally/otherwise engaging with the public that they have to publicly correct the record or face a fine and/or a suspension. It's bullshit that people who are in charge of running states and countries can just run their mouths like this and not face any real consequences.
reminder, the GOP only cares enough for people to have access to heathcare coverage, anything more is communism.

But for years, I've decided against it as, even when I had insurance, I couldn't afford the premiums, and would definitely not be able to afford the treatments that would follow if I did, in fact, have skin cancer. So now rather than "living" a life with crippling debt and knowing (possibly) that I have a potentially fatal disease, I've opted to "survive" and will be just as surprised as everyone else if I should keel over. Such a wonderful land of opportunity we have.
They really are super villains, aren't they? Thanks to crazy deductibles I already follow the 'I ain't dead yet' health policy. Guess I need to hope I don't die some longer!
Let me fix his sentence into what he actually meant: "Nobody that I care about dies because they don’t have access to healthcare"
My dad used to work on Capital Hill and told me he had a run in with this guy once. From what he told me Raul Labrador is the type of guy who is always grumpy, and anything that doesn't align with what ever he's trying to push just becomes white noise. The entitlement on Capital Hill is very real. We live in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory folks.
That does raise the question: if the majority of hospitals did end up going bankrupt and shutting down, how fucked would America be?
dude if any country had all of its hospitals shut down they'd all be fucked.. what kind of question is this?
