Generally, a hard stance on porn and other sexy things is associated with right-wing nutjobbery.
Well there are ways both the left and the right could find themselves against porn. The usual argument from the left is that it's degrading to participants, the usual argument from the right is that it's offensive to society. Both sides can find ways to be for it as well. Left, it's a free expression of sexuality. Right, free speech. So kind of the same which is interesting. This isn't a partisan issue at all.
i'm not saying "ban it". i'm saying there are very valid complaints levied against the porn industry and the culture that allows a market for it.
I apologize for if it sounded like I was trying to put words in your mouth but, my response was more geared that there is a fundamental problem with some of those complaints in that you can't really defeat a need for objectification.
So now everyone in iceland will be on NoFap indefinitely?

I wonder if this will have any effect on sexual offence rates in Iceland. It's not really like a normal country, their culture is a lot more community-oriented, and thus the crime rates are really low, so it's actually debatable how this might turn out.
So now everyone in iceland will be on NoFap indefinitely?
Their first form of protest - unleash their pent-up NoFap 2013 loads on Parliament on February 14th of next year. BREAKING NEWS: Iceland wiped off the face of the earth by a megatsunami of semen, footage at 11!
...FUCK.
so parenting in Iceland includes letting your child roam the internet unsupervised?? WHAT A GREAT CULTURE!!
so parenting in Iceland includes letting your child roam the internet unsupervised?? WHAT A GREAT CULTURE!!
Stupid parents don't supervise, good parents do. But banning porn in Iceland won't do anything as people can still use proxies to get to porn. And there'll be increased rape most likely.
I never understand why people hate porn
increased rape maybe im not cynical enough but i dont think people turn into reckless rapists when they're cut off porn
Two years ago, the Icelandic Parliament – led by female prime minister Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir - successfully banned all strip clubs on the grounds that they violated the civil rights of the women who worked there and were harmful to society.
I'm sure those women all went on to get meaningful jobs where they made even more money to support their children and families! sigh
Couldn't they just use a proxy/TOR and still get access. Sounds like a dumb move, just pushing stuff underground.
women are enticed to join a profession that degrades them and turns them into sexual objects. it isn't hard to see why people would be against it.
but as long as the industry is regulated and it doesn't harm the workers them i don't see the problem
porn is hardly sex. i would eat my shoes if one of the major complaints about children seeing porn wasn't how porn paints an unrealistic and harmful image of sex, and showing that to a child could be detrimental to their understanding of sex. i mean how many women have you been with that would let you choke them, hit them, and then ejaculate over their face? the porn industry gets off(excuse the pun) with very heavy objectification of women.
2 of my previous Girlfriends (out of a total of 3 of appropriate age) were into this sort of stuff. I was never able to partake in it because I felt it as being degrading to my girlfriend as was afraid of physically hurting her.
As George Washington once said, "Banning Porn would be against everything we stand for!"
I find this really funny considering the Prime minister of Iceland is a lesbian and almost everyone in Iceland is related and they think that Porn is the reason for their society being so weird. Not that any of that's a bad thing anyway.
women are enticed to join a profession that degrades them and turns them into sexual objects. it isn't hard to see why people would be against it.
I actually know a pole dancer, she loves her job.
How is this even feasible Do politicians think internet porn comes from the internet porn fairy or something
Considering how cold it is up there and there's probably nothing to do...
Eh, aside from beating the bishop and fishing i like to spend my time decorating my igloo.
porn is hardly sex. i would eat my shoes if one of the major complaints about children seeing porn wasn't how porn paints an unrealistic and harmful image of sex, and showing that to a child could be detrimental to their understanding of sex. i mean how many women have you been with that would let you choke them, hit them, and then ejaculate over their face? the porn industry gets off(excuse the pun) with very heavy objectification of women.
Actually if you talked to girls about that sort of stuff you find that quite a few of them get a kick out of stuff like that
As George Washington once said, "Banning Porn would be against everything we stand for!"
That was Thomas Jefferson you mop
But without porn...What else is there to do in Iceland?
As George Washington once said, "Banning Porn would be against everything we stand for!"
"Look, every once in a while, a man needs to tug his wang, is that too much to ask for?" - Abe Lincoln
that western nation will crumble and fall, and the males will start raping females in broad daylight.
I actually know a pole dancer, she loves her job.
All the stripper/sex industry workers I've talked to have said that their job is a million times better than the otherwise shit entry level jobs they would have to take. Ie working at McDonalds, costumers treat you like shit, and you have to take it. If some guy gets touchy feely or abusive at a strip club, the workers can tell him to fuck off.
I've always felt that porn objectifies men just as much as women. In the weird alternate universe that is the setting of all porn, it seems like the only thing about a guy that matters is the size of his dick. You almost never see the guy's face, and when you do it's considered a bad thing.
Actually if you talked to girls about that sort of stuff you find that quite a few of them get a kick out of stuff like that
I have a friend who told me she'd be a stripper if it wasn't seen as a slutty thing to do.
Am I the only person who doesn't use porn and just enters imagination mode to masturbate?
Oh damnit Iceland, and here I was thinking you were cool. Just bring in parental controls rather than blanket-blocking all the sex; you seriously shouldn't aspire to be like Australia.
