how could you want what you've never really had console gamers dont care about 60 because they've never really played enough games at 60 to care its objectively better but its ok to live in mediocrity because they dont know it
Look, I'm sorry, but you've lost all perspective if you honestly think that the only way anyone could disagree with your technical preferences is if they've just never experienced the glory of 60fps. A number of successful console franchises, like CoD, run at 60fps, and multiplatform gaming is more popular than ever before. There are a lot of people who genuinely don't mind.
Gamers will never settle for lower numbers than the past in any area. Fucking deal with it Ubisoft.
Except for the price!
I really don't mind 30fps in console games but I have a great resource to prove that trying to aim for 60fps should be prioritized over looks regardless of how you want to market your game in case you are trying to aim for user immersion
John Carmack on that subject:
@adam_johnson_ @CRYTEK_TIAGO Just remember that a Sonic game that isn't locked at 60 fps is a crime against nature.
you know what if your game looks like the crysis of year you are currently in its ok to have it run at 30 fps your game does not look like that
you know what if your game looks like the crysis of year you are currently in its ok to have it run at 30 fps your game does not look like that
Supposedly Unity is a 1:1 recreation of Paris as it was during the Revolution, that remains to be seen but idk if it's true that's pretty impressive.
I can tell the difference but.. it doesn't really bother me at all. You guys complain to damn much.
About that complaining bit, yeah we complain a hell of a lot. It's the price for having companies that do shitty practices. In fact we complain so much that I'm surprised that Nintendo even wants to appeal to "Hardcore" gamers, yet it seems like they do.
Supposedly Unity is a 1:1 recreation of Paris as it was during the Revolution, that remains to be seen but idk if it's true that's pretty impressive.
Doubt it is 1:1 and besides, you ain't going to see all of the city rendered like close to you most likely.
Doubt it is 1:1 and besides, you ain't going to see all of the city rendered like close to you most likely.

As someone that tired of some of the major AC tropes, like the linear barriers and the annoying fail states, Unity appears to be a breath of fresh air. It isn't just that the 'black box' missions allow you several different approaches, but the rest of the world doesn't stop turning. Side missions and the like will continue to unfold, making the city more of a living world. Paris also proves one of the series' most inviting settings, as well, designed at a 1-to-1 scale. It's massive to behold from a rooftop or from the pause menu, which is part of the reason that Ubisoft is making it possible to set waypoints from the game's second screen app.
A quote from ShackNews saying it's 1:1, but like I said we don't have any definitive proof but yeah supposedly it is.
Make sure each patient has their renta records faxed to you so you can determine if they're blind or not. And make sure you get a game that is third person, not first.
That's the point. It's not first person. Concerning first person, it's practically scientifically proved higher FPS = better player performance. [editline]12th October 2014[/editline]
You didn't even measure the FPS? What if the 60FPS weren't 100% stable? Wouldn't that completely go against the point of your study? Did you use Vsync?
We used a 60 FPS cap, we saw it could reach it, but we can't leave the counter on during actual play for obvious reasons.
Honestly, if you can't get 60 fps, just say you can't. Don't make shitty excuses. But, then again, Bayonetta 2 is 720p @ 60 fps with rare drops on the Wii U for fucks sake. http://www.ign.com/videos/2014/08/22/bayonetta-2-60-fps-montage
Looks like they made a lot of sacrifices to get there, though.
Bayonetta 2 looks like something from 2010, it would be embarrassing if it couldn't get 60fps at 720p.
I'm making a game right now, I have the ability to switch between 30 and 60 FPS, mainly performance reasons. I have like the shittiest eyes in the world, if you can't see the difference you're probably blind literally.

Let's not forget that there was a time when 12 fps was a standart for a movie industry. If Ubisoft wants to make a historical game looks as a historical movie, they should make it 12 fps. Nah, just shitting. They saying all this absurd things because they too self proud to admit that they just can't optimize game more. I mean, i can understand why they can't optimize - hardware is new and unexplored, and game itself are much older that both PS4 and XOne. Anyway, i got a shitty feeling that this so called "New Generation" is just a bullshit. I mean, we've been promised FullHD since 2005 and they still can't make a games in solid 1080p. In 2014, 9 years of technological progress.

This is what happens when you put the French in charge of anything
This is what happens when you put the French in charge of anything
Stop associating the French with Ubisoft, that's insulting!
Stop associating the French with Ubisoft, that's insulting!
i guess we'll have to do with maxofs2d as the french
We are talking about a videogame company that would be otherwise unknown to the public if not for the passable Assassin's Creed series Don't put too much attention into this
We are talking about a videogame company that would be otherwise unknown to the public if not for the passable Assassin's Creed series Don't put too much attention into this
Yeah the company responsible for Rayman, Prince of Persia, the entire Tom Clancy franchise, and publisher of over 500 games would be unknown.

No way that was running at over 20FPS. Funnily enough Rouge on a 360 right next to it looked very smooth compared to Unity. Graphics are great though.
We are talking about a videogame company that would be otherwise unknown to the public if not for the passable Assassin's Creed series Don't put too much attention into this
in addition to Janus Vesta's point the "passable" series? AS2/BH were some of the best open world games I've seen. Ubisoft has made some amazing shit despite their unforgivably horrible business decisions.
I've got some mixed feelings on this. If you're talking about the casual gamer like my Uncle who enjoys graphical beauty on his consoles, it would make sense to drop the 60 FPS standards for consoles only. That hardware is not changing with the times, so you need to make things work. People like my uncle want to be wow-ed. However, if we're talking PC, there's absolutely no excuse.
-snip my bad-
