It's being directed by someone who's only directed 8 things prior to this, I'm unsure how to feel about this really.

Have you seen those Breaking Bad episodes? "Fly" is my favorite from the whole series

Ozymandias is incredible too. I have high hopes just because of that.
I've heard great things about Looper too.
Ozymandias is probably the top pic for the best episode of the entire series by most watchers.

Garath Edwards only directed 6 things before Rogue One.
I am curious to see how powerful Luke will be. It's funny how the prequel trilogy and the expanded universe both canon and non canon make the force users of the original trilogy seem super quaint.
As for those saying that Rey has to be a Skywalker since it's called the Skywalker Saga, Kylo Ren is a Skywalker.
As for those saying that Rey has to be a Skywalker since it's called the Skywalker Saga, Kylo Ren is a Skywalker.
Technically he's a Solo but eh
I fully expect Rey to turn to the Dark Side and Kylo to turn back to the light, either at the end of ep 8 or the beginning of ep 9.

I've always had this long-shot theory that Rey is Luke's X-23, just a clone with different chromosomes.
Luke's old lightsaber clearly made it out of Cloud City so I wonder what happened to the nice chunk of Jedi DNA that was still holding on to it.
I think it helps that the first vision Rey sees when she touches it is in Cloud City.
I know there's probably holes in the theory and I'm completely ok with it being wrong, its just what I'm guessing for now.

George Lucas only directed 2 films and a handful of short films before Star Wars.
I really hope rey turns full dark side. It'd be a nice change.
Obviously not going to happen, but I think that would honestly piss off a lot of people, including myself if it did happen.
The Force Awakens would feel like a waste of a movie.
But if they make rey be trained by luke it will be the empire strikes back 2.0. I'd rather have am original script than a copy-paste of the OT
Fits in well with the other movie titles, just a little bit generic. Good enough though so fuck it.
It probably doesn't really mean much - it's probably just the return of Luke, the last of the 'old order' of Jedi before the (implied) academy opened up and crap
So I guess the Jedi returning in Episode VI was pointless
Well, not exactly. You could say that the film's title is referring to Luke - the last person formally trained by the Jedi Order, as Master Yoda himself trained luke. He tried passing on his teachings to the son of Han and Leia, and a number of other force sensitives, but Ren ends up slaying them all, and himself turning to the Sith ways. Rey is a force-sensitive who is, thus far, completely untrained. Therefore, Luke is the last of the Jedi. I suspect the plot is going to involve Kylo either coming back to the light side or Luke being killed, and Rey carrying the torch forward.
I wonder if snoke is Darth Plagueis - the guy who was Palpatine's master and who Palpatine supposedly slew in his sleep. Helps that Plagueis was supposedly a master of illusion.
So how much of the movie will be Rey attempting to convince Luke to train her while he grapples with the fear of accidentally creating more Sith.

Calling it right now - Rey asks Luke to train her, Luke refuses, Rey gets attacked by the First Order and Luke helps her fight them off, then agrees to train her.

brick and looper are both great imo
I'm thinking that Rey will turn to the dark side in this one and that maybe Kylo switches.
I'm thinking that Rey will turn to the dark side in this one and that maybe Kylo switches.
That'd be actually pretty interesting plot twist.
Maybe Luke and Rey dies; and Chewbacca becomes a Jedi.
Finn stays in that coma and wakes up at the after-credits of the final film.
And becomes the nee Palpatine
what's finn's role gonna be? i'm thinking he'll end the trilogy as a republic commander of sorts, would be a nice (if predictable) arc for someone who starts out as a pawn

I've always wondered if [sp] he's secretly a Jedi because he was able to hold against Kylo for a bit using a lightsaber. Either that or First Order troopers are just extremely well trained with melee weapons.[/sp]

He'll probably end up leading or as part of some elite squad or something.

He was trained in the same class as Mr. Riot Baton

I mean, they are probably taught how to use melee weapons given the baton fight and a lightsaber is usable to people who are at the very least trained in other melee weapons, though they are obviously outmatched against an actual Jedi 99% of the time, as an example, Pre-Vizsla vs Obi-Wan, who was completely outmatched with a lightsaber and had to rely on tricks, hand to hand combat and cheating to win the day.

Or Kanan & Sabine, she was clearly outmatched the entire time, but she can utilize the blade due to previous training with other bladed weapons and has some training in the forms during the episode. (New episode spoilers btw, don't watch if you haven't watched this episode yet, REALLY good.)

Him having the lightsaber in the first one was just a red herring to get people thinking he would be the important Jedi guy instead of Rey, but it tricked no-one, he's not going to be a Jedi, he just knew the basics of sword fighting and that helped him use the lightsaber, you don't have to be a force user to use a lightsaber, you do however need to be a force user to be ADEPT in using a lightsaber.
The only one who could ever go up against Jedi and who was a non-force user was Grievous, but he wasn't exactly normal, given he was a super cyborg who's brain was basically half droid/supercomputer and his entire body was DESIGNED to increase his combat prowess and even then a few Jedi, like Obi-wan could kick his ass. :v:
The prophecy is coming true. There will be balance to the force if nobody can use the force.
He was trained in the same class as Mr. Riot Baton
Excuse me his name's Tr4y-T0r.

It's mostly the fact that [sp]neither him nor Kylo Ren actually know how to use a lightsaber and their entire fight is designed to look clumsy and inexperienced.[/sp]
