Anyone else think disturbing the peace style laws are terrible and way too subjective? In this case he was also drunk and breaching his probation but disturbing the peace should not be a law.
I tend to agree; what damage does shouting really do? I mean physical violence, sure, but shouting? In this case being a dick to children was pretty dumb though. We put up with loud cars and jet flyovers and whatnot but apparently the fabric of our society can't handle (for instance) two people standing in the street having a shouting argument.
Bah, they should have been glad that someone was trying to get that fat personification of rampant consumerism unassociated with their holiday that represents the birth of their prophet. Go ask a Christian kid what Christmas is about.
That guy is an asshole
Canadian crime at it's worst.
It's in england though :3
I was never taught Santa was real I think that is becoming the norm
Santa is not real. Welcome to the real world.
except telling kids someone they've looked up to and seen as a badass since they were like 2 isn't real is delicate and shouldn't be brought by a drunken asshole yelling at them while having a good time...

Anyway is there a mugshot of this guy? The description sounds fucking priceless.
That's probably worse than a sibling telling you he isn't real... it's heart breaking for kids. Imagine what it does to you when a stranger says it right at you, drunk and scary as hell.
I'm sorry, but he's right. :suicide:
wow you santa-forsaken soul, who do you believe in, huh? the easter bunny? Also, while a person can be arrested for 'Disturbing the Peace' in order to remove the offending individual from the area, they can't be charged or held for that. He WILL be charged for breaching probation and being drunk. Even though Santa doesn't exist, it symbolizes the good of gift giving and warmth during winter seasons. [editline]27th November 2012[/editline] I mean obviously Santa doesn't exist, I never expected it to, but I like Christmas. Good food and everything.
I thought Santa was a scapegoat. I wanted hotwheels one Christmas and "Santa" got me a $5 Tonka truck, girls clothes, and a book.
Come on, the children were bound to know one way or another
god damn my city, first soccer moms want to ban Halloween and now this, I feel like this is the wrong city for holidays
