Hopefully this will shoot the value up for a while like when that Jamaican bobsled team was funded with dogecoin.
but in the real world not libertarian fantasy land any real successful currency with any shot of being used by the average person for an average transaction, is fiat money
basically this is what i was getting at.
but in the real world not libertarian fantasy land any real successful currency with any shot of being used by the average person for an average transaction, is fiat money
This conversation isn't about what is successful or common. Just the definition of currency. [editline]8th April 2014[/editline]
basically this is what i was getting at.
Yes, and I'm talking about the definition of currency in its simplest form.
but in the real world not libertarian fantasy land any real successful currency with any shot of being used by the average person for an average transaction, is fiat money
Or it could be money in the shape of knives: [t]http://i.imgur.com/oXkcX.jpg[/t] Or bricks of tea that can be seperated into smaller bricks: Or manillas: [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/13/Manillaokhapo.JPG[/t] Currency as we know it today is a more recent creation. The idea is to facilitate a medium which can be used for the transaction of goods. For a long period of time, it was simply melted ores, sea shells, or otherwise dehydrated food/herbs that were crushed down into powders and then molded into bars. It was meant to be practical transactions of goods, that could be used for other practical uses. The idea of practical transaction exists to this day. If you visit thrift markets, people are willing to trade goods for other goods, because it gives them something else to sell at another time. For example, if I were to sell fruit at a local market, but someone didn't have money, and they offered me something like a coyote pelt... I would accept that offer. I know for a fact that I could resell that pelt to a pelt buyer for $30 to $60 a pop, and my trade of goods with that person would still turn a profit in the end. Trade isn't always facilitated with a medium. It can be facilitated with people exchanging items and services to other people, for items and services.
yes it is the reason you're accepting the coyote pelt is because you can sell it for dirty fiat money
Because that's a medium which is well accepted within our current society. If I could goto a local computer store, and buy computer parts with coyote pelts, I would.
"xD so funny for no reason lol epic" This is why we can't have nice things.
Imagine getting stuck behind that car for the full 499 laps.
At this race a few years back, one driver was stuck behind this car for a good portion of the race, and at one point radioed into his crew chief saying he will have nightmares about kids eating free.
You do realize I was over exaggerating as a joke right?
well you did a poor job at it
"xD so funny for no reason lol epic" This is why we can't have nice things.
I think it's pretty funny actually.
"xD so funny for no reason lol epic" This is why we can't have nice things.
This is very much not a "lol randumb huehue" type thing.

Shame to see they couldn't afford the wheels, but noble effort anyways. :v:
What is the best way to buy dogecoin?
absolutely amazing
The doge face staring out the back bumper is genius, if the doge car is winning, imagine how the people racing behind it will feel, being stared at by a giant cartoon dog.
I wonder if all the cancer in it will slow it down
And the firesuit to top it off: So yeah, the price is going to go up alot once a million people see a fucking shibe on a NASCAR and google dogecoin. If the car wins im sure r/dogecoin will have already boarded their rockets to the moon... dogecar spelled backwards is racegod
dogecar spelled backwards is racegod
Mother of god.
dogecar spelled backwards is racegod
This is prophecy.
What if we laugh now, but later dogecoin will be the universal currency of the universe, like credits in sci-fi? That kind of stuff makes me wish to try to nuke the world. Let's see if dogecoin can fund some james bond to stop me.
And the firesuit to top it off: So yeah, the price is going to go up alot once a million people see a fucking shibe on a NASCAR and google dogecoin. i like dogecoin a smaller community means that people focus on doing stuff like helping sportsmen and donating to charity and regardless of your opinion on doge, this is a nice thing to do
A bit of an update, as this car has won the design contest and will run at Talladega. Also, the owner of the car has been reached out to and apparently the makers of NASCAR 14: The Game want the Dogecar in it. In addition, the owner as also said in a recent AMA that he expects a diecast to be made of the Dogecar by Lionel Racing.
Not a bad looking car, and there have been far worse sponsors
This was during qualifying today, the car qualified 37th out of 47 (43 make the race).
