Trump has talked about appointing conservative justices to the Supreme Court, and it has been speculated that the post-appointment Supreme Court would go back and overturn the ruling that legalised gay marriage. They would probably turn it back into a states' issue.

Correlation is not causation. It is very possible that 'fresh' politicians can be very corrupt. You know, because America just elected Trump, a fresh politician who won't release his tax returns and probably hasn't paid any federal income tax at all in the past few decades, who has advocated for violence at his rallies, who tried to undermine the entire democratic process by claiming the elections would be rigged, and has had a long history of being on the receiving end of lawsuits.

You are applying a thought mistake, my comment starts from the statement that statistically more experienced politicians are more likely to be corrupt. I can both logically and physically prove this if you want, but i assume its clear why this is.

day after the vote came in a friend was telling me her brother, who teaches in ohio, was witnessing some serious shit. Black kids were beating up latino kids because somehow the latino vote went to trump out there, all the while white kids saying the blacks 'shouldn't even be here'. Shit's been messed up and the violent reactions we're seeing isn't some result of ~democrats being as/more violent as republicans~ and whatnot, it's because unlike what would happen in a clinton win, many marginalized people are fucking terrified for their own lives because of the precedent of this guy validating the worst in racists/bigots/etc/etc and it's very deeply going to affect them in the coming years. It's not about losing an election, it's about what the election has and will continue to enable in further marginalizing and degrading them as human beings
