I think you're disregarding his brilliance here.
no i'm pretty sure i acknowledged it in the very sentence you quoted
I'm going to need a source on that claim. Germany had some of the highest inflation and unemployment Europe had ever seen before Hitler came to power. A lot of this was due to the great depression yes, but Germany was the country hit hardest and a lot of this stemmed from the minimal recovery of the hyperinflation in the twenties. The destruction of their economy was not the only reason for German scorn, however. The Treaty of Versailles shamed and demonized the Germans. In a fervent spark of nationalism, I'm proud that America refused to ratify that treaty.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weimar_Republic#Golden_Era_.281924.E2.80.931929.29 It was the great depression that got the ball rolling for Hitler.

Wilson's Fourteen Points Plan was much more sensible in hindsight. [editline]27 October 2012[/editline] MY GODDAMN AUTOMERGE NOOOO
Hitler's only real accomplishment was his ability to bullshit an entire nation into believing him other than that he was mental, he had massive insecurities, and was a terrible tactician who led Germany into a terrible divided period 0/10 would not vote for hitler again
He didn't really convince an entire nation, just a moderately powerful political party and its supporters. He lost the election, but was appointed chancellor after. Later the guy who won died and Hitler succeded him. To be fair, though, he did manage to convince many people that Germany's improving economy was his doing, but that was after the guy who won died. So while he was a decent politician, his skills weren't great enough to get him where he wanted. Luck and connections took him the rest of the way.
guys this still isn't any reason to praise or defend hitler
Hitlers economic policies would have also failed had he not gone to war. The money he used for all those autobahn projects and other insane shit were more or less pulled out of thin air.

I think I remember hearing somewhere that the "killing Jews" thing was more ordered by Himmler or somesuch. I'm probably wrong, though.
guys this still isn't any reason to praise or defend hitler
No, but it can make you look at him as a human being rather than a monster My title hasn't a thing to do with this btw
So he was a cowardly, somewhat mental, twisted, insecure, illogical idiot with a penchant for speaking but not so much strategy. That honestly speaks wonders. Hitler was just an idiot.
I mean I hate Hitler as much as the next guy but it doesn't make it any less sad to see a human being complete break down like that.
actually yes it does it makes it so much less sad that it becomes hilarious fuck hitler
The Nazi i dislike least has got to be Albert Speer.

It's happening again in greece. That's why the "Golden Dawn" party is gaining so much popularity. because they're helping "pure" greeks. much like hitler boycotted the jews.
guys this still isn't any reason to praise or defend hitler
Internet.
actually yes it does it makes it so much less sad that it becomes hilarious fuck hitler
He was still a human being yo, I'm not saying this doesn't make him a horrible fucking killer. I'm just saying it's sad to see a human being waist away into nothingness, any human.
The Nazi i dislike least has got to be Albert Speer.
Gotta be Rommel for me. In his tour of Africa, he followed all the Geneva gonvention rules and more. PoW's were treated very well. He really cared for his men and respected each and every one of them. What really makes him alright though is that he ignored Hitler's persecution of jews. He never huntrd them down, and should his men capture any jews, he would treat them like any PoW. In fact, iirc he was the only high commanding nazi general that never got tried for any war crimes.
actually yes it does it makes it so much less sad that it becomes hilarious fuck hitler
Hahaha, oh my god, 'Humans breaking down is fucking hilarious lmao'. [editline]27th October 2012[/editline]
*shrug* I don't care it's hitler after all
Holy shit you are literally unworthy of being human if you truly believe that a human life being tormented like that, even if it has been doing tormenting itself, is hilarious and doesn't deserve care.
What
That's in some ways fairly well known. He improved on the UK to join the Nazis, as they were apparently racially close.
*shrug* I don't care it's hitler after all
The irony is pretty apparent here. I'm not going to directly compare you to Hitler, but don't you see the irony in having a lack of empathy/sympathy and being totally apathetic to the fate/life/suffering of another human-being. Infact, not directed towards you and throwing it out there, but I know many see Hitler as sub-human or not even a human. The irony within that, is astounding and profound.
That honestly speaks wonders. Hitler was just an idiot.
He might be an idiot but he's probably the world's most successful idiot
Hahaha, oh my god, 'Humans breaking down is fucking hilarious lmao'. [editline]27th October 2012[/editline] Holy shit you are literally unworthy of being human if you truly believe that a human life being tormented like that, even if it has been doing tormenting itself, is hilarious and doesn't deserve care.
I hope you see the irony in yourself too. Say someone lacks empathy or understanding for another human-being. Say they don't deserve to be human. I don't even have to pull out the hitler argument here.
Hitler had family in Liverpool, lived in the UK for a period of time too. Hitler and the SS admired the British Empire and the isles history, they copy pasted British history into their own to make up their own myths and legends.
What
Not England specifically: Britain. Marischal College in Aberdeen was his favourite building - that he would have liked as a second-home if he had won.

You don't seem to know anything about Rommel other than some vague history points.
