I don't see why this is particularly sad. He's blaming his entire nation, who faithfully followed him (some even to the bitter end), for not fighting heroically and for being the reason why they lost, and that they deserve to die because of it. Even at the bitter end he couldn't admit his wrongdoing. That's pretty fucked up. I have little sympathy for him, even if he was going mad.

Every single human being that ever was had person likes, insecurities and fears. Hitler was no different from any man, he had problems. He was no idiot, he was never insane, after seeing all of his work trying to make the world a better place (Though his ideals on doing such a thing were not any good) and spending years on just making Germany a better place in his eyes all go to ruin and seeing everyone he ever respected no longer trust him, consider him an idiot, and betray him would destroy him as it would do the same to me. I may not agree with the things he has ordered, but I will respect him as any other person and as an interesting one. He was cunning, he was a con artist of sorts. Twisting reality through speeches with such power and emotion he was able to convince many many people what he was doing was in fact good because he felt betrayed and felt like he had to do something about his life, even if none of it was what he saw. tl;dr two paragraphs of contradicting bullshit because i'm confused
