That's because the demo was horribly outdated. It's more about the developers chosing badly on what kinda demo to give us than the game itself being really bad.
More and more bad excuses to justify a lackluster game.
There are very few games out there that DON'T get pre-release leaks these days.
I don't really think its the game itself that people are excited about, but rather the fact that the game is actually coming out.

Oh boohoo, the game isn't perfect.
Oh boohoo, the game isn't perfect.
It really is mediocre from what I have seen, but it would be hard to make a game on par with todays standards while still sticking with the classic Duke Nukem formula.
yeah you can try the demo too but by playing the real version you'll truly see if it's worth it.. you know
it doesn't look all that bad anyway, but people are way too excited about it lol.
So instead of a demonstration you'll pay for the full version to see if the full version is worth it?
wat
Duke Nukem doesn't belong in this era.
Sure, the idea of it sounds good, but you just can't make a game with bland shooting with a bunch of gimmicky weapons anymore, it doesn't appeal to the consumers.
I'll probably still get it so I can finally accept that it exists.

How is it a bad excuse when it's true? Not trying to start a flame war here, but I'm just saying.
10 years of development and it leaks just like that. I feel bad for them.
It is hardly the same project as 10 years ago. My guess is they've worked on it for 3 years tops.

Bland shooting with a bunch of gimmicky weapons.. and lots of nudity and sex, huge fucking explosions, sexism, Duke's one-liners, dirty jokes.. how can it possibly fail?

The only thing this generation knows from that list is the bland shooting, gimmicky weapons, and huge fucking explosions. Nudity and sex will piss off soccer moms, as will dirty jokes. Duke's one-liners are amazing, but people are used to the generic "blah blah blah missile silo blah blah blah terrorism"
Im just disappointed that they left lout the dam health bar. I mean having a health bar gives you the gamble of being super badass now but you have to be more dodgy later. Not to mention I liked looking for health packs.
seeing how borderlands turned out meh, im REALLY nervous of how DNF turns out

borderlands is "meh?" to what standard?
borderlands is "meh?" to what standard?
just felt blah to me, it's a good game but i feel like it was overhyped and overpromised, and just failed to deliver
not to mention multiplayer was impossible for 2/3 of buyers for the first 2 weeks of launch
the only people who appreciate this game are teenaged boys who want to see polygonal tits bouncing around, sorry. I'm a big fan of the classic Duke Nukem games and even I have no interest in this game, as it's nothing more than a game designed to cater to horny teenagers
I'm sorry, but you have no idea what you're talking about, as with most of your posts. You do not understand the satire or intention of Duke Nukem at all. There are plenty of older men, ranging even higher than 30 years, who are looking forward to this game because they had played DN games when they were younger. While it may hold true to some people, it is not only teenage boys who want to see polygon tits bouncing; I have pre-ordered this game and that's not even close to what I am purchasing it for.

as far as art and character design goes, Borderlands blows DNF and most other bland, uninspired FPS games out of the water. the replay value was poor and singleplayer was boring, but it was still a great game
[editline]1[/editline]
also, the DLC packs were really satisfying unlike most games which just add different coloured clothes and the likes.
I loved Borderlands, and if they were to make a sequel I would buy it on the spot. There was just something about it that I loved. I don't know if it was the art style, or the gameplay, but something really hit it off for me.
Anyway, DNF took everything that was good about Duke away. The humor seems to have dulled a little, and degenerated further into immaturity. Now while Duke's humor has always been immature, this is just crossing the line. DNF expects us to laugh at throwing poop around in a shower room, really? The game also suffers from CoD-itis, with its regenerating health and two weapon slots. To be honest, a bland uninteresting shooter with gimmicky weapons and immature humor just won't work in this day and age. Bulletstorm is a similar gripe to me. It's very linear, immature, and bland, I simply didn't enjoy it. Most of you who are looking forward to DNF are looking through nostalgia goggles. If you take DNF at its face value, it's very bland and uninteresting. If DNF didn't have Duke, or a fanbase of people who have played the previous game, it would flop.

Now we just wait for Episode 3.
I was about to say that it's released tommorow anyway, is it the 17th in America?
So that's why a romanian friend of mine came running in yesteday yelling "I got Duke nukem for xbox, you gotta burn it!!"
Who the hell wrote this article? It's not being released June 17th, it's being released June 14th

You know stores have this really cool new procedure where you take something back if you're not satisfied and get your money back?
It's pretty groundbreaking as far as retail procedure goes.

I dunno I kinda like the idea of having a piss or a shag to regain 'health'.
It's new.

You can't bring it back if you buy it online.
How is it a bad excuse when it's true?
You don't know it's true, you're hoping. You're hoping Gearbox will have taken that awkward piece of shit and turned it into an amazing game that was worth waiting 15 years for. We're not going to know whether they have until the game is on shelves.

I'm saying it's true that the demo was old. Wasn't saying anything about the full game. I am hoping it's good, though.
This game is going to be such a let down
You can't bring it back if you buy it online.
and thus is the reason I preordered it from Gamestop
Plus the preorder bonus.
Steam is pretty good about refunds though dude
I'm wondering if I should pre-order this tonight or not, what do you guys think?
Are there any reviews of the leaked copy?
Duke Nukem Forever leaked
Piracy is happy
Malaysia is happy.
I fucking hate my country.
I bet my friends would be talking about this game all the time because they bought the fake one.
