I find it hilarious that this thread is full of people who are disgusted by the prospect of drinking something that is more natural than the current alternative.
I'm curious how this would work for most people, iirc most non-Caucasian adults can't tolerate human lactose
they would probably slowly adapt like northern europeans did
Wow it's so hard to breastfeed let's just fuck up some cow genes
My mother can't breastfeed :colbert: Me and my brother and sister all had to drink formula.
Well I guess it's okay as long as they don't start genetically engineering spitting cobras to spew semen, cause that would just be over the line.
Yes because milking humans is much better.
yeah but that could be hot
Well I guess it's okay as long as they don't start genetically engineering spitting cobras to spew semen, cause that would just be over the line.
if i was a genetic engineer i would totally do that for shits and giggles
The problem with GM is that you're messing with the basic genetic code of an organism. We don't have the RIGHT to be messing with nature, for starters.
More seriously though, we don't understand it enough to be doing this; it's entirely possible that a genetically modified cow could be the perfect breeding- and mutation-ground for a number of viruses that would then go on to devastate cattle populations.
It could be that the bodies of GM cows would be the perfect home for microbes or insects that would otherwise be rejected by cows. This favouratism would result in a boom in the populations of these microbes/insects, which would in turn drive down the populations of whatever these bugs/insects feed on.
There's a balance, and we're fucking with it. And I don't like that.
Balanced always get fucked with.
That's what gives things a chance to adapt and evolve.
But, why?
Cows milk is actually bad for us as it's milk from another species. Yet women don't want to give their huge breasts for the well being of mankind so instead of using human milk, or enslaving women for milk farms, I guess they decided to genetically alter cows milk which personally, I don't agree with. (Not that I agree with enslaving women either, just feeding people genetic mutations is wrong).
just feeding people genetic mutations is wrong
Why not? Humans are genetic mutations too. Hell, mutations are natural and happen all the time.
We just change these mutations to our advantage.
Then get the fuck off the computer and live in the forest if you don't think humans should be advancing themselves.
That is the plan.
What is nature?
Is a little bird in forest a piece of nature?
Yes. Yet they build nests, and in some cases hollow out trees, modify their environment.
Are beavers part of nature?
Yes, they are. Yet by creating dams, they can drastically modify the natural environment and easily flood vast space.
Were the ancient cyanobacteria natural?
Yes! They were! Yet they completely changed the atmosphere of the planet and only thanks to their cheeky behavior which drastically changed their environment, we are here today.
We ARE the nature. We are not anyhow excluded from the chain of evolution. We came from nature and we are still part of it. Yes, our impact on our environment is the fastest and sharpest on history of the planet, but it's no different from that in the past. We aren't only allowed, we are ENTITLED to progress. We are using techniques and forms of manipulation never seen in nature, but that doesn't mean we aren't just the first ones to come up with them.
And if you want to argument with god - what kind of god would want his creation to stagnate? Why would we be given the power to think, to create, if it was forbidden? If there ever was a god, thinking that he might not want us to progress would make him seem terribly petty, mean and evil! I would say that whoever who says stuff like that is insulting the god!
No matter if we were created by higher entity or random chance, we hold all the rights to do what we can to progress.
Can we wipe ourselves out by fucking up? Quite likely. Serves us well in that case. But stopping progress just because its progress is completely moronic. We should be careful, we should be patient, but we should never, never stop progressing due to some silly shyness.
I don't disagree with you; I'm not saying I'm right.
These are just the things I think about and I think, just like any opinion, mine are still very much incomplete.
Am I the only one finding this creepy as fuck?
What? Are you saying that drinking our own milk is 'creepier' than drinking the milk from a completely different animal?
No , I'm more creeped out by the latter.
What? Are you saying that drinking our own milk is 'creepier' than drinking the milk from a completely different animal?
No , I'm more creeped out by the latter.
I think the fact that it's our milk, except coming out of a cow, that is the creepy part
So, where's my choclate cow then, they can make human milk, where's my chcolate milk?
So, where's my choclate cow then, they can make human milk, where's my chcolate milk?
We'll get on that once we discover the fudgenome.
Human milk? Would be dangerous for us. We are not used to Human milk at older age. The stuff in it isn't what the cows produces.
We have drank cow milk for many years. If we suddenly start drinking human milk, we will become sick.
Ahahhahah
oh man
You should write a broscience book.
Honest question: Do you even think you have any idea what you are talking about or did you just pull it out from your ass because you wanted to have an opinion?
Why not? Humans are genetic mutations too. Hell, mutations are natural and happen all the time.

I'm sorry what? Humans are not "mutations". And this human cow milk is unnatural.
I'm sorry what? Humans are not "mutations". And this human cow milk is unnatural.
Everything is a mutation. That is how evolution works, bud.
Background radiation coupled with the UV radiation coming from that giant ball of fusion in the sky causes your genetic code to mutate several thousand times per second.
Most of the mutations are fixed by enzymes that are specifically tasked with maintaining your genetic code against mutations, but not all of the mutations are stopped. This is the reason evolution can exist.

Oh shut up will you, absolutely everything that ever existed is a result of millions upon millions of successive genetic mutations.
YOU
Yeah you have genetic mutations
Your mum
Yeah she has genetic mutations
Your dad
Yup, mutations riddle that motherfucker.

You really are some kind of special, every single organism on earth is a direct result of genetic abnormalities and mutations, without those mutations then we still be single cell prokaryotes and there would be one species on earth.
snip i was wrong

Well it's better than ending up with problems due to lack of calcium.

I'm starting to think that some of the brains in this thread are genetically mutated. The stupidity is... un-natural...
I'm starting to think that some of the brains in this thread are genetically mutated. The stupidity is... un-natural...
More than a few people in this thread failed biology 1.
I'm sorry what? Humans are not "mutations". And this human cow milk is unnatural.
That keyboard you are typing on is unnatural. You better go throw it out and wash your hands with natural water before they mutate into cancer.
But, why?
because science needs to assert its dominance over mother nature
Sorry but no. If we have the power to advance and evolve, we should do it. Fuck nature, after all we are the only intelligent beings on this planet. We have all rights to play god in our sandbox.
:v:
Uhhh formula is inferior to human milk primarily because A) There is a chemical bond associated with breast feeding that causes the brain to make connections at a very basic level during development and B) The mother's immunities are passed down through her breast milk to her child.
Yes, the milk itself bolsters the immune system, but the immunities are the long term benefit in terms of physical health. Something cattle aren't going to be able to pass down.
Basically if you are able to breast feed your child and choose not to, you are an irresponsible parent.
I hate people like you, people who tell others how to raise their kids. If a woman just plain doesn't feel comfortable with having to be the sole parent in charge of feeding the baby or doesn't feel comfortable with the breastfeeding itself it's her choice. Breast milk may be the ideal for a baby but bottle feeding is not going to make the kid piss weak and not breastfeeding does not make one a bad parent. Each to their own.
