So any policy differences or wut, will anything change? [editline]14th September 2015[/editline] Also why did Abbott become unpopular because to me he seemed to start off a cock and stay a cock so what actually changed to make people dislike him

I mean anyone with half a brain realised that a long time ago, but the Australian public is collectively stupid.

[editline]14th September 2015[/editline] Also why did Abbott become unpopular because to me he seemed to start off a cock and stay a cock so what actually changed to make people dislike him
Turnbull more than likely to: - Allow a conscience vote on same sex marriage -> possible legalisation by the end of this year! - Could change the NBN - Domestic violence reforms - Proper PR - Fall to astounding pressure to call an election Abbott's popularity declined mainly due to his party having a fuck up every week, from choppergate to the royal commission into union corruption's judge speaking at a Liberal party fundraiser. The end of cockups wasn't going to end, Malcolm got his numbers, did the maths and took out Abbott swiftly
Turnbull is not going to allow a conscience vote on gay marriage, nor will he change the NBN.
Speaking of royal, both the leader and deputy leader are now republicans. Both also support gay marriage, and both are small l liberals. [editline]14th September 2015[/editline] If you're a supporter of the Labor party you should be extremely concerned rather than happy, because the electability of the Liberal party just skyrocketed with Abbott out of the job.
This will make no functional difference to policy as has already been stated by turnbull himself
I hope this means Labour will get rid of Shorten.
Turnbull is not going to allow a conscience vote on gay marriage, nor will he change the NBN.
I think you're spot on.. maybe it might get revisited as mandate material at the next election.
Wow that went quickly Hope to god that they turn around their environmental policy now
Aight boyos this week could be bumpy So the National-Liberal coalition as you know is a long time standing one, they're separate parties but they unite under one roof because why not The Nations agreed to be a coalition (again) with the Liberals under Abbott Technically speaking, this contract agreement - right now, does not stand If tomorrow they choose to not re-do the contract, the coalition not only becomes no more, but the Liberals will not have the numbers to function anymore The chance of them forming a minority government is slim, on top of that, if the 40+ members who sided with Abbott become dissatisfied with what has happened they could resign and become independents Essentially, what's about to brew is going to be furious rivalry, Malcolm has signed himself a one way ticket to political war essentially The test will be if the Liberals can hold enough strength and carry on, or if the Liberals disband and become a new party. Maybe I'm speaking bollocks, but tbh it looks like the fireworks are only going to get better
From the Aus thread, my speculation
So this is a good thing right? [editline]14th September 2015[/editline] Wait, what is he like with Climate Change? [editline]14th September 2015[/editline] I did some research, apparently he was a big pusher for ways to fix Climate Change, and he was actually kicked out of the party due to it.
Most likely nothing will change besides the Liberals becoming less of a laughing stock. The party themselves won't change their policies for the most part.
