Actually half of his face got covered with oil when he fell out of the chair and as the explosion... exploded, it ignited it. Still, true, not chemical burns.

Yes, you'd quickly shoot the guy who just threw acid in your eyes. Oh wait you wouldn't because you wouldn't expect it and pulling the gun out after that would be pretty pointless since you can't really aim when your eyes are melting.
