You just don't get it.
It doesn't matter if you have a non-lethal substitute, as long as the criminal has the gun your going to lose. Because if he is breaking in to your home and has a gun it is obvious he plans on using it.
Half the time you don't even have to use it, the fact the criminal knows you have a gun is a deterrent.
And obviously taking away guns doesn't do anything, this is a clear case. The two victims didn't have a weapon and look at them, they're dead..you know why? Because some maniac used a gun.
People need to stop living in this fantasy land where people can be the "good guys" and stop criminals by using non-leathal carebear hugging ways. If things like that worked, we would be using them already.
Also just fyi everything can be lethal. Those non-lethal bullets, can actually kill people and cause serious damage. Specially at close range. Which if your in a house, your going to engage the intruder at close range.

Studies show when a criminal enters your house unless in a drunken rage they do not intend to shoot you unless its in self defense.
Either way I still have my trusty old 7.62x39mm AMD-65 Hungarian AK47 under my bed >:).

Well really? That is so enlightening - that really gives me comfort with some asshole with a gun breaks in to my house. Next time ill tell him "Hey if i be nice will you not shoot me" and while I'm at it, I'll ask him if he wants coffee as he is robbing my place. Probably going to end up going to tech anyway because some of the requirements I need for UVA I don't have an I've only got one semester after the current one before I plan to transfer. I'd prefer UVA though.
