She scored $32,000 to speak to students Thursday, $2,000 more than the acclaimed author is getting to deliver a commencement address.
The Rutgers University Programming Association paid Jersey Shore's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi $32,000 Thursday to speak to students, according to NJ.com.
That's $2,000 more than the $30,000 the university is giving Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison to deliver the school's commencement address in a 52,000-seat football stadium in May, the site reports.
Morrison was booked by university officials, while the Rutgers University Programming Association, a student-run committee, invited the self-described "guidette" to speak, using the mandatory student activity fees undergraduates must pay with their tuition.
During her Q&A Thursday, Snooki sat in an upholstered chair (with her feet dangling) on a bare stage and told students, "My feet can't touch the ground. Awkward!"
Asked to give advice to Rutgers students, she said, "Study hard, but party harder."
Not everyone walked away inspired.
"Such a waste of my money," freshman Dan Oliveto, 18, told the paper.
"If I want to listen to someone talk, they should have something intelligent to say."
The site says Snooki is not getting her entire $32,000 fee (money also will go to her management and the speakers' bureau used to book her).
Students on the committee said they considered Snooki’s appearance fee reasonable. Others, including Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari and comic Kevin Hart, demanded $75,000 each for a campus show.
This is why I hate most of the media.
Why the fuck are they paying that much for a talentless fucking ugly whore who has no use nor purpose in society?
Eeugh...
and i was considering going to rutgers
I'm more upset at the fact that the students have to pay a fee that goes to shit that they don't necessarily want.
I don't really care about the fact that snooki got paid more than the other guy.
I'd rather have heard from Aziz Ansari

Wow.
That's why having a good manager pays off.
"Hey kids, we paid a bunch of money for this orange person to tell you how to be successful at life"

Entertainment means shit when almost anyone can do it.
The Nobel Prize has been worthless ever since they nominated Tookie Williams for it.
For those that do not know, Tookie founded the Crips gang, and killed 7 people and was sentenced to death.

" So yall are like graduatin perty soon huh, well drop out now and you can be a ompa lumpa like me!"
What a fucking waste of student budget. Sure, I'm sure the committee that decided to have her speak for $35,000 didn't take her seriously and knew it would be funny, but it's not funny when $35,000 is taken out of a budget meant to help students.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. It's extremely easy to get nominated for Nobel Peace Prize, it's not like there's a whole team dedicated to finding great nominees.

Nobel prize, not Nobel peace prize, dumbass. One is actually awarded on merit.
err, why did they do that?

On October 9, 2009, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced that Obama had won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".[242] Obama accepted this award in Oslo, Norway on December 10, 2009, with "deep gratitude and great humility."[243] The award drew a mixture of praise and criticism from world leaders and media figures.[244][245] Obama is the fourth U.S. president to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and the third to become a Nobel laureate while in office.
For the guy that sends CIA Operatives into Libya to fuck shit up is certainly a great diplomatic measure.

I wouldn't pay a dime for her

What the fuck is stopping you from being paid 32k to speak to students, then?
Rutgers is a well-known party school. I can't imagine a more appropriate college for this to take place at. :v:
I'm not sayin' there's no serious students there, just that it's got quite the reputation for this kinda stuff.

This kid is literally a baby, "everyone should entertain me. people who don't are worthless"
52k people learned a tiny amount about American culture and American academia for 32k, I don't see how that's a waste of money.

Anyone who paid to see "Snooki" deserves to be frustrated.
