These things take time, you gotta think long term. Just because you don't hear about it a year later doesn't mean it's dead, you gotta come back in five or ten because standards are extremely rigorous. This so much. Every single goddamn news article about medicine has at least one of those comments, scoffing that it's an empty promice etc., completely disregarding the entire process behind developing cures/drugs, I mean, just look at the timescale:
