To be fair a better symbol of the Holocaust in question would have to be the SS-Totenkopf insignia. That and the SS badges.
The symbol that prevails as symbolising the nazis is the swastika. Not only that but thousands were brutally tortured and murdered in the years leading up to the war by the nazis. Most people don't know what those symbols would even be. People who defend it as a peace symbol have to be joking I swear though
Why would McDonalds care who they hire? So long as they made my chicken Sandwiches and not spit or piss on it, I'm good. And if that douche went Neo-Nazi soapbox on me I'd happily spit my food in his face and leave.
However, Matice said even with the money she didn't feel satisfied. She wants the incident addressed at a larger scale.
this is bullshit for 'I want to feel powerful and/or claim damages' I mean how many of you would actually complain about this if you knew you weren't getting a payout
To be fair a better symbol of the Holocaust in question would have to be the SS-Totenkopf insignia. That and the SS badges.
At least in the US, the average person recognizes the swastika more. Whether the SS insignia would be a better symbol or not doesn't mean that it is the symbol, y'know?
When I worked at sheetz I used to write words in the foot long sub's with sauce. It wouldn't be as legible as this was. But I liked to think people tasted my writings.
The swastika's the symbol of the Holocaust, dude. If you think "hey let's put the symbol of a genocide on a burger" is funny, you must find the genocide itself funny as well. If you don't think it's funny, don't make jokes about it.
Wasn't the Swastika just the symbol for Nazis? Not specifically the Holocaust.
Justified suspension.
When I worked at sheetz I used to write words in the foot long sub's with sauce. It wouldn't be as legible as this was. But I liked to think people tasted my writings.
What did you write? and if it wasn't 'ur a faget' its a waste of time
People who defend it as a peace symbol have to be joking I swear though

The swastika (卐 or 卍) (Sanskrit: स्वस्तिक) is a symbol that generally takes the form of an equilateral cross, with its four legs bent at 90 degrees. The word "swastika" is derived from the Sanskrit "svastikah", which means 'being fortunate': SVASTI-, can be divided into two parts: SU- 'good; well', and -ASTI- 'is'; -ASTIKAH means 'being'. While the exact location and time of the creation of the swastika as a symbol with defined meaning is unknown, it has been confirmed that swastikas have had recurring use within various ancient civilizations around the world, and have been found on all continents on Earth; even Antarctica has had the presence of swastikas since Nazi Germany's New Swabia expedition. Meanings and representations within varying contexts throughout its geographical and historical distribution primarily attribute the Swastika and symbols allied to it as being representative of order, harmony, eternity, destiny, prosperity, creation, the presence of divinity and protection against evil, holiness, purification, fertility, light, fire, the generation of warmth and heat, and celestial objects and their activities- most popularly that of the Sun.

Good. If you don't take your job seriously you shouldn't have it. Wait, they put butter on sandwiches there? Isn't it greasy enough already?
That's the Southern Style Chicken. It's a chicken breast filet on a steamed bun, with a squirt of liquid butter and a pickle slice. I don't get it either. I used to work at McDonald's, and people ordered that shit all day long. . . .who the fuck steams bread? Who looks at a sandwich, and says "Hey, you know what this needs? WATER."
At least it wasn't cum or spit. Or thousand island sauce.
I'm confused what's wrong with thousand island?
Yeah, you'd better be an upstanding slop jockey or you can die in a hole for all I care.
When there are unemployed people who won't be drawing the symbol of the most destructive regime in the 20th century he can fuck off for all I care [editline]11th August 2014[/editline]

That's not what I meant, nobody in the west draws it as a peace symbol yet people repeatedly defend its use with this excuse
handwavium
he wasn't marking a hindu swastika.
Wasn't the Swastika just the symbol for Nazis? Not specifically the Holocaust.
Swastika = Nazi = Holocaust = "what the fuck is wrong with you??" It's the common denominator.
At least it wasn't cum or spit. Or thousand island sauce.
if it was he probably would have got away with it too but wow firing the guy, talk about overreaction. normal people would shrug it off and just realize the guy is just a dickhead. people get their feelings hurt too easily, over something so stupid too, he probably got fired and lost his only source of income over a stupid joke.
he wasn't marking a hindu swastika.
Hindus aren't the only culture to use Swastikas, I'm just pointing out that it has many different meanings based off the context. It's just that most people will associate it with Nazi Germany because they used it as their symbol of choice.
The world would be a much better place if people were chill and didn't get offended. I love me some dark humour.
Many people died because of that symbol and it’s not something that should be taken lightly.
I don't think people died because of the symbol itself but I might be wrong. Seriously though, while the swastika-buttering isn't really acceptable, she's overreacting. It's just some dude who did something dumb, not a large scale issue. [editline]11th August 2014[/editline]
he wasn't marking a hindu swastika.
How can you tell the difference?
The world would be a much better place if people were chill and didn't get offended. I love me some dark humour.
In the right time and place By that I mean not at your fucking job Besides calling drawing a swastika on a bun humour is embarrassing
I do think this guy did something stupid and should be punished by his employers. But I also think the lady overreacted.
No, it was one of the symbols the Nazis used to represent their country and political organization, it's about as much of a holocaust symbol as the American flag is a symbol of Native American genocide during the 19th century.
Sorry nobody in the west besides idiots defending this give a shit about the other usages lol
In the right time and place By that I mean not at your fucking job Besides calling drawing a swastika on a bun humour is embarrassing
Yeah you're right, it was really dumb. It's one of those classic "I think I'm being clever but I'm actually a dumbass" moments. I wish dark humour like how the comedian Frankie Boyle uses was more widely accepted though. Actually scratch that, the funniest part is when people get angry about it.
lmao go back to /b/ and take your 2008 ~internet troll~ attitude with you
What a calm and well thought out response I guess I support the killing of people too considering that I have laughed at some of Jimmy Carr's jokes. So some guy drew a swastika on a bun, no big deal, nobody would even know unless she had opened it. And nothing would have happened if she ate it
yes because we all know that the industry needs higher standards for teenage mcdonald's employees that's the thing in the food industry that needs quality control. you know. never mind that you think the most evil thing on that burger was a symbol drawn in butter instead of the preservative-filled, processed and mixed "meat" on the other side.
Fucking sweet I didn't know they were having the blitzkrieg meal deal, does it come with a mein kampf booklet?
yes because we all know that the industry needs higher standards for teenage mcdonald's employees that's the thing in the food industry that needs quality control. you know. never mind that you think the most evil thing on that burger was a symbol drawn in butter instead of the preservative-filled, processed and mixed "meat" on the other side.
If you consider it a high standard to not be a fucking idiot who draws a swastika on a bun then I don't know what to say
I think what needs to be examined is the intent of the person drawing the swastika. You argue "It's a sanskrit symbol, and it means good fortune" until you're blue in the face. But I doubt very seriously the employee in question thought "This sandwich needs a blessing of some sort, to bring good luck to the customer!" as he was doing it.
How can you tell the difference?
intent
The guy who drew the swastika was a fucking idiot, there's no denying that, but holy shit that woman is fucking retarded.
