• McDonald's employee decided to etch Swastika symbol, customer offended, McDonald's fire employee

Doodling is a way to relax the mind from arduously monotonous tasks. No wonder this ex-employee doodled a silly Nazi related symbol on a burger. It was just mild entertainment that existed for entertainments sake. It wasn't intended to spread hate (literally or metaphorically). And it shouldn't be viewed as an intrinsically hateful thing to do. Somebody rides atop of a behemoth of a high horse, when they condemn, and get someone fired over, such a thing.
why's everybody acting like a bored highschooler drawing swastikas (and probably dicks, 666, swears, etc) where nobody's going to see them is out of the ordinary it's dumb subject matter but it isn't like Eva Braun was working the fryers
I always drew this; I didn't even know what it meant, still don't. Although to be fair, the employee probably knew what they were doing, but god damn. People are way, way too sensitive toward things sometimes.
Well... Yes that is a real plaque in Chicago. Erected by this chap: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Hale_Thompson
If I remember correctly the US Department of Agriculture in DC has a swastika-like symbol. Side-by-side and connected.
This kind of work looks pretty soul-destroying honestly so I imagine drawing stuff in sauce/butter is probably an incredibly common thing. Personally a swastika seems like it would at least provide good coverage. I'm impressed that she found it though. I would never spot this sort of thing but I generally don't check under the bun anyway.

In my business studies class we found a note book cover in swastikas along with the words "I Am Impotent NSDAP" Weird
Why is this news? This happens all the time lol
Hindus aren't the only culture to use Swastikas, I'm just pointing out that it has many different meanings based off the context. It's just that most people will associate it with Nazi Germany because they used it as their symbol of choice.
everything is culturally dependent and given that hindus are practically nonexistant in a statistical way in the west it's really not that surprising that people associate the swastica with the nazis given it's a significantly more important part of our historical context than hindu religion is soz
Thoughts on drawing a dick in your taco wrappers and then going back through the Taco Bell drive thru and claiming that somebody drew dicks in your wrappers to get free tacos?
I think BDA just solved world hunger here.
Not bad, usually I just make a penis out of the pickles on cheeseburgers
It was still a silly thing to do, though. He could have doodled plenty of other things. A stick figure, for instance. Or a fluffy cloud.
Who says he didn't? This could have been one in a long line of different things.
I wonder if the woman would've reacted the same if he would've drawn the SS symbol.
Just fire everyone working at McDonald's and replace them all with robots to press forward the growing economic disparity that will force societal change or doom society to foolishly abandon technology to cling to an outdated ideal of personal worth.
Every time I get fast food now I will make sure to take off the top bun to make sure no nazi sympathizers are invading my stomach.
"Many people died because of that symbol"
Damn, one hell of a symbol to actually kill someone. Damn.
but it's a peace symbol no need to be offended.
it's dumb subject matter but it isn't like Eva Braun was working the fryers
Husband shot himself. Forced to work at a fastfood restaurant to cover the gas bills. Germany will never be the same again.
My friend used to do this all the time when he worked at mcdonalds with tomato sauce, he finally got fired after 5 years of service for drawing a dick on a white board in the staff room.
