Actress Evan Rachel Wood has come out swinging against the Motion Picture Association of America, after the organization censored a scene from her upcoming film Charlie Countryman that apparently depicted a woman receiving oral sex.
“I would like to share my disappointment with the MPAA, who thought it was necessary to censor a woman’s sexuality once again,” the actress began. “The scene where the two main characters make ‘love’ was altered because someone felt that seeing a man give a woman oral sex made people “uncomfortable” but the scenes in which people are murdered by having their heads blown off remained in tact and unaltered.”
It's a sign society is still anal about sex, but still okay with murder and gore.
People having their heads blown off by grenades: OK
Two people conscenting to have sex: NO, NO, BAD!
Its just people being retarded. They find it awkward to see a woman getting pleasure from sex so they removed it, which is silly. Especially when you think about all the gruesome murders that are allowed in movies.
let me just say that this movie sounds fucking awesome based on what she said
It's rather confusing when films are allowed to make allusions towards males recieving oral sex, but not females?
Also on a side note,Movie looks fucking awesome

So women aren't allowed to be shown to enjoy sex in movies?
Well that isn't surprising really. Female sexual satisfaction has been taboo for a long time.

0:12 is beautiful.
I want to see a movie where a man gets his head blown of while giving a woman oral sex.

Japan probably has you covered
I think it's more of a matter that "a serious movie can't depict sex that looks real rather than romantic". It's always just missionary position. If it's blowjobs, it's in a comedy movie played for laughs. If it's doggystyle it's with a hooker or a one night stand. Every position but missionary is seen as obscene, only flat missionary sex without any legs in the air is seen as romantic.
are you sure it isnt because shia labeouf is disgusting and seeing him in a dramatically serious role is deeply and profoundly disturbing
Huh, this film is giving me that 'Drive' vibe.
I like it
The MPAA and film ratings boards are fucked systems anyway. There is some documentary that talks about it. How there's shit like no actual guidelines or rules but 7 unknown people watch the movie behind closed doors and if a scene upsets 4/7 of them it gets cut. Stuff like that.
maybe this scene wasn't even supposed to be in the movie and Shia just wanted to go down on her

Indeed. Ratings boards tend to be arbitrary kneejerking bodies.

Rig the system, get all 7 to whine at every complete movie, no movies get shown, hollywood burns to the ground.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker have talked about this IIRC. They basically bend over backwards for large budget hollywood films but screw over the small studios.
If that is deemed too offensive to remain in the film, would films like This ever be allowed to be made in the US? Or be put on air?
MPAA has been an asshole for as long as it existed.

So, I'm obligated to perform horribly in bed?
Phew! And I thought I just sucked.

"no, hun, you don't understand, I'm not allowed to pleasure you successfully, its taboo!"
You americans and your silly anti-sex pro-violence lifestyle never cease to entertain.

Oh hello germany! Have you been enjoying your video games where you're only allowed to shoot robots?
I'm kidding of course but you gotta admit that you and the US are two opposite ends of the same spectrum.
Anyways, what's with America's disgust towards cunnilingus? I generally get negative responses when discussing it with people from the US (though not people from FP and image boards for some reason)
MPAA is a fucking joke of a system from what I can gather, really pales in comparison to our equivalent (The BBFC). I could probably say with certainty that if it gets released over here it will be uncut.

"So, jim, how's that girl working out for ya?"
'Dude, she's a fucking animal in bed.' -looks around real quick- 'She lets me pleasure her'
"Dude what a kinky girl! She's crazy perfect for you, ya weirdo!"

"This Film Is Not Yet Rated"
It proves beyond a shadow of a doubt the MPAA is a system that is outdated, flawed as all hell, and more or less useless at upholding it's goal of only allowing quality films into theatres. They've basically made the last 35-45 years of popular film history completely leave women and womens pleasure behind.
The film shows that asurefire way to get your film slammed with an NC 17 rating(theatres don't show NC17 generally) is show a woman receiving pleasure.

In this movie a decapitated head gives head to a woman, is that close enough?
