I hope they fix all of the problems with the game that are shown in this video:
Holy fucking shit that guy is a master of never getting to the point. Took him 10 minutes to explain basic math and repeating himself that the game is fudging numbers.
Holy fucking shit that guy is a master of never getting to the point. Took him 10 minutes to explain basic math and repeating himself that the game is fudging numbers.
Other than that part, i found it very informative.
It's funny how he's ranting as if it was designed by lazy programmers, when the majority of the time it's clear that some of the stuff is done on purpose to work around old hardware and stop you from driving faster than the map can render. Imposing limitations on a game hardly makes you a lazy developer.
I dunno, cars that only react to what's directly infront of them (even if they're turning) or vehicles that force you to turn into walls sounds pretty lazy to me.
Hopefully, with all the time Rockstar have had to work on it, it wont be another shitty port to PC like IV was. From what it sounds like though it wont be.
That's cool Rockstar but you promised us heists you have ten days ten days to show us some fucking heists
There's always Payday 2.

Does he not realize that there's more than one way to slow a car down?
Denser traffic, oh lord that's going to be fun with the suicidal AI that love to get in your way and the agressive as fuck cheaty police. Plus the whole physics of the game where you come to a standstill if you so much as touch another car and trying to push cars out of the way, forget about it.
Yeah that's why I wouldn't mind them putting a slider for it in the console games. I always kept my traffic density to near minimums on PC even though my computer could handle higher traffic densities simply because the AI in GTA has never been an enjoyable motoring companion.
Get an upgrade.
Because everyone can just magically shit out a new video card, right?
Because everyone can just magically shit out a new video card, right?
His CPU is old and his GPU is entry level. If he's on a tight budget then I always recommend my supreme budget overclock build:
PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YRcndC Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YRcndC/by_merchant/ Benchmarks: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YRcndC/benchmarks/ CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($109.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($64.99 @ NCIX US) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($79.99 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill Value 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($39.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($52.92 @ Amazon) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 760 2GB DirectCU II Video Card ($229.99 @ Micro Center) Case: Rosewill CHALLENGER ATX Mid Tower Case ($39.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply ($29.99 @ Newegg) Total: $638.85
It's one of the worst game companies to work on, despite of their games being good. Blaming it on them is outrageous. But i'm sure he didn't know.
We always get good mod tools, just not from Rockstar. Just because it won't support mods doesn't mean it won't be cracked wide open like every other GTA.
They don't support mods, but they don't try to make it hard at all. I like their system of coding things, they make their code as modular as possible, and then they leave it open because why not. Makes it VERY easy to release content patches/DLC, and very easy to mod
His CPU is old and his GPU is entry level. If he's on a tight budget then I always recommend my supreme budget overclock build:
Trust me, I know how to build a budget build, but when you're thinking about any purchase higher than 50$ twice, it's not really possible to just throw 500$+ for a new PC.
His CPU is old and his GPU is entry level. If he's on a tight budget then I always recommend my supreme budget overclock build:
why would you need an nh d14 for an fx6300
That's cool Rockstar but you promised us heists you have ten days ten days to show us some fucking heists
Or what? Will you not buy the game? Oh no.
why would you need an nh d14 for an fx6300
He plans to overclock it to hell?
Denser traffic, oh lord that's going to be fun with the suicidal AI that love to get in your way and the agressive as fuck cheaty police. I want them to fix the handling in this game.
I want them to fix the handling in this game.
What is wrong with the handling? I thought it felt better then GTA4
Jesus, seeing those pictures makes me wonder how will Fallout 4 be for the PS4/XBoxOne
What is wrong with the handling? I thought it felt better then GTA4
The only real complaint is that it is not GTA4 handling.
What is wrong with the handling? I thought it felt better then GTA4
nothing is wrong with the handling, It's just down to personal preference. tbh it would've been nice if they had an option between the handling they have and the GTA 4 handling, sort of like Mafia 2 had
Not really that noticeable on these small pictures (except for the first one maybe).
The rest of us aren't blind believe it or not. [editline]12th June 2014[/editline]
tbh it would've been nice if they had an option between the handling they have and the GTA 4 handling, sort of like Mafia 2 had
That would've been fabulous. It'd stop all the handling bitching and I'd still be able to navigate at high speeds.
His CPU is old and his GPU is entry level. If he's on a tight budget then I always recommend my supreme budget overclock build:
That's still just short of $640, not everybody actually has the money to totally overhaul their PC on a whim. I'd love to upgrade my old-ish Phenom 955BE and GTX 460 (768MB VRAM boyeeeeeee), but I, and many others, have more important things to spend the money we have on.
nothing is wrong with the handling, It's just down to personal preference. tbh it would've been nice if they had an option between the handling they have and the GTA 4 handling, sort of like Mafia 2 had
There's no real weight to the cars, unless one car hits another in which case it pretty much becomes rock meets immovable object.
I hope they fix all of the problems with the game that are shown in this video:
Video says lazy programmers are to blame, but if the person who made it knew anything about programming, and how huge of a project a GTA game is, he wouldn't be so quick to throw that comment. Rockstar have quite a lot less programmers than some other developers who make way less ambitious but somehow buggier games, so I'd say they do pretty well. Not to mention the arse hardware it was put on, so I wouldn't be surprised if these things are fixed... The car thing especially shouldn't be a problem on the new consoles because they actually have enough processing power to handle more than a crappy instant orientation change for the pathing of cars.
Video says lazy programmers are to blame, but if the person who made it knew anything about programming, and how huge of a project a GTA game is, he wouldn't be so quick to throw that comment.
I agree. That seems to be the case most of the time, the gap between developers and "gamers" is huge. Not saying everyone needs that knowledge, but when making such assumptions you should probably have an idea or two of the other side beforehand.
i just blew $2000 on a new rig, i guess this will be the trial by fire.
... What the hell did you build? $2000 nowadays will get you a seriously ridiculous rig.
That seems to be the case most of the time, the gap between developers and "gamers" is huge. Not saying everyone needs that knowledge, but when making such assumptions you should probably have an idea or two of the other side beforehand.
Although, after watching how bad some of the examples he makes are... Rockstar REALLY should've delayed GTA 5 until next gen, because those issues are crazy... Cars which try to avoid collision based on a single orientation check and because of that end up hitting you instead is pretty hilarious when you think about it. I really am curious to know who did the QA for that specific part of AI, because it's terrible. But once again it comes down to shitty consoles; now if it still isn't fixed in the PC and current gen versions then there's definitely more weight to the lazy programmer argument.
i went back and played a little GTA IV today and dear god i hope they don't ever switch back to that
I think car handling between the two would be the best. In GTAIV it felt more realistic but slow, but when I played GTAV at a friend's house all I could think is "Holy shit this bus has a Jet Engine". I know people complained about the slowness in GTAIV but I think they way overdid it with GTAV's changes. City Buses handling like sports cars is really weird to me.
I skipped picking it up on 360, looks like I was right to wait. Now to scrape together the last $500 or so to finish building a new computer.
That seems to be the case most of the time, the gap between developers and "gamers" is huge.
You just described the Rust subforum 24/7.

The worst thing is, that forum seems to be much less moderated than everything else, allowing shitty posts and overall crap in there.
