Okay so we're 10 trillion in debt and what's anyone doing about it
That's not the Democrats fault, that's how the system is. When you have two vehemently opposed parties of essentially equal power and a democratic voting system, you're going to have a stalemate.
Good god I'm turning into my father. He's a big Republican. Oh well. Makes some good points.
Best thing to do would be cut spending. No, thats too republican. Keep spending us out of debt Obama.
But I do like how invading random countries raises the quality of my life by giving me natural resources.
what.
He's right. Both parties have forgotten that running a country isn't a game to see who can control the branches the longest. it's about getting shit done. Everyone you vote in does the same shit the person before them did, regardless of party, and regardless of what they said they would do. People in our government refuse to work together. Ontop of that, rarely does anyone ever show up that fully represents what the majority thinks is best, they just vote for whoever is closest. [editline]3rd July 2011[/editline]
I hate being American, ugh.
Don't like the color of your flag? Find a new set.
Both parties have forgotten that running a country isn't a game to see who can control the branches the longest.
That is the textbook definition/goal of a political party, literally, it's in any American government textbook.
Leave.
My local, state, and federal government frown on secession.
well tough, I live in South Carolina, you know those crazy guys
Ever since 9/11, the US has put about 6.7 trillion dollars into the military. Considering that the military budget every year is $680 billion. Imagine what your country could do with that.
This is what happens when corporations run a country.
Think of the number. 3,4 trillion. And thats just the minimum amount used in the war. Thats enough to

make 3,400,000 people millionaires.
give a BILLION of starving people 3400US$
give every person in USA 11,000$
give every single person living on this planet 450$
3.4 TRILLION US$ IS 2,286,482,851 KILOGRAMS IN GOLD BRO! Thats over 150 times the money that is used to explore space.
That last number makes me want to cry in a corner with the sheets over my head.
I swear..... if we spent as much money solving world problems as causing war, many of the issues for fighting would vanish.
ITT: Insensitive bastards That $4.4 trillion is just for finding the bodies of those dead from the attacks. There was so much rubble that it took a lot to dig the bodies out and search through it.
The US should stop investing in their stupid military and invest in good stuff like Science and Health Care. The americans think "OH WE ARE THE WORLDS SUPERPOWER AND WE CAN DO ANYTHING LOLOLOL". It's just because they have a big military. They just want to be a superpower. Paranoid Americans, still haven't got out of the habit of thinking the Russians are going to attack them.
OH GOD COMMIES PLEASE DONT REMIND ME OHHHHHHHHH!!!! Democrats and Republicans both have their flaws. They both come up with the craziest policies that make no sense. Honestly most of Facepunch by some odds are opposed against hippies but they are Democrats. I just don't get it.
But Osama is dead, mission accomplished.
bad reading
Pretty sure he's being sarcastic or trolling.
Next time, lets just take a trillion dollars and bribe every man woman and child in the opposing nation. That is about 16,000 USD for every single person in Afghanistan and Iraq combined. (Before anyone agrees, I'm kidding. That would be a terrible idea for all manner of reasons)
To everyone saying that we should bring all the troops home, the fight isn't over yet. The invasion of Afghanistan was completely justified, and as it stands, Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are essentially on their knees and very weakened. We have to finish the job and leave Afghanistan with a stable government or else we'll be back there in 10 or 20 years. Obama has set the deadline as 2014 While Iraq shouldn't have been occupied, what's done is done. Obama pulled out all combat troops, and all other American soldiers are going to be pulled out by the end of the year I believe. And I have another comment for lots of comments I see around the internet and facepunch, and I just felt like stating it. Those who portray all Americans as ignorant, jingoistic, militarists are as bad as the supposed people they talk about. It's kind of sad to see comments like that get agreed with so much. Portraying all Americans as such is just as bad as an ultra-conservative portraying all Muslims as radicals. Comments like that are truly ignorant.

Your comment is devoid of any logic as to how much damage this war has done. It's hard to see it when your sitting in your chair at home typing away on the keyboard.

The deed was done, and the best we can do now, with a new administration, is let the country rebuild. I wasn't defending the Iraq War, and I know it had a huge cost in both currency and human lives. Afghanistan is a completely different story, the United States was attacked by Al-Qaeda, who were being harbored by the Taliban. They had the choice of handing over Osama Bin Laden, but they didn't. It wasn't a war of aggression on the part of the U.S. and so far nobody has given me a reason why military action wasn't justified in Afghanistan. My main message is that pulling the soldiers out of Afghanistan right this moment would leave it in chaos, and in the same position as when the Soviets left it 30 years ago, ready to repeat the same cycle.
