Our government sucks and we can't do anything about it
This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard and just goes to show how much the government has succeeded in making the average person think they're worthless. Go vote for something productive.
Yup. People think that the terrorists only wanted to kill, but it caused the U.S. to spend a shit load in military, have the media trick people into fearing everything, dumb TSA checks, and the focus on defeating the terrorists instead of something to improve the country.
Dohoho the terrorists did this and that. If you really think all of those repercussions you mentioned were the result of our genuine response to a terrorist attack, you're pretty dense. Have you ever thought for a second that someone may be pulling strings? But don't mind me, pay more attention to your terrorism propaganda:
Politicians, and the American voting population, have an "I don't give a fuck" attitude until they are face to face with an actual crisis, and at that point they do something. I don't expect the US to default on their loans. Even for Republicans, winning this political sports battle is a lower priority than keeping the country from being destroyed. The Republican politicians are starting to realize how full of shit they are, the only factor is how soon before the collapse they decide to stop playing chicken and actually work shit out.

and why did they go into the middle east again? to make themselves look good and spend money.
God damnit, this thread is like 2 weeks old, Spaceghost just gets horny off posting in old threads.
Looks like the Terrorists succeeded.
This might sound like some silly conspiracy speculation, I think maybe the U.S. government want the terrorist to succeed. So there's a reason to invest in our military, to keep things in a constant cycles. But I'm not omniscient what is actually going on, so this could be utterly wrong.
We wouldn't be in so much debt if we didn't continue this so long. We could have caught osama back in 2003 but we relocated resources to destroy Iraq and let him escape.
