Does this mean in a few years time we won't have complete idiots arguing over which CELL PROCESSOR amazing console piece of trash is the best? I certainly hope so.
Now I wonder if Sony will follow the same suit with the PlayStation.
No. Sony never follows market trends. They still make a CD player, for crying out loud.
That won't happen because PC gamers would have an advantage. Don't know why you'd want that tbh.
I did not word it correctly, my bad. What I meant was having halo also on pc and not just xbox considering how much of a platform seller it is.
phil spencer actually said this would most likely happen. they are even planning a elite keyboard and mouse apparently.
I wonder if it's going to cost half the price of the console itself
Now I wonder if Sony will follow the same suit with the PlayStation.
Why would they do that? They are easily winning in sales on the home console market, which is probably one of the main reasons MS are doing this with the Xbox brand. The sales of Xbone are much less than they were probably expecting, so doing this would be good for them, and also helps promote sales of their OS and use of their own store.
I'm guessing this means people with windows 10. :saddowns:
You know what would be nice? Being able to select gaming mode from the desktop or something like that. So that way when you plug your PC into a TV it launches the Xbox tile interface so you can navigate it with your controller from the couch. This would require updates to Windows 10 or a whole new version of Windows 10 sent via MS updates but it would be nice. There's times when I wish I could plug my gaming laptop into my TV and have it run like the Xbox :) I think it's just a dream... it's like wishing HL3 would come out soon lol.
microsoft's smartest move would be to release Halo: MCC for PC, making it Windows 10/DX12 reliant, and they'd immediately see about a bazillion new installs of W10
microsoft's smartest move would be to release Halo: MCC for PC, making it Windows 10/DX12 reliant, and they'd immediately see about a bazillion new installs of W10
that would be the final push i need to bother switching my main PC over to win10
microsoft's smartest move would be to release Halo: MCC for PC, making it Windows 10/DX12 reliant, and they'd immediately see about a bazillion new installs of W10
Not everyone is willing to move on to Windows 10 (at least not for the time being). Even if Microsoft did decide to release Halo: MCC on PC and it was released tomorrow, I personally wouldn't be inclined to switch over to Windows 10 at this time simply because I think the OS needs a bit more time to have the more major bugs worked out of it. If it were to happen, I'd personally prefer it if they released it on PC and still have it be accessible by Windows 7/8/8.1 users as well; no reason to lock out part of the fan base if they were to release it on PC simply because some of them still aren't willing to upgrade at this time. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say that Windows 10 is shit; I'm just saying that, at least from a business standpoint, it would probably still be a good idea for them to consider the amount of people that are still using Windows 7/8/8.1 and how those users could still be a decent part of the market to cater to as well. At least until Windows 10 is a bit more stable/functional than it currently is.
I'm confused, so they're selling prebuilt PCs with an Xbox operating system, or what?
microsoft's smartest move would be to release Halo: MCC for PC, making it Windows 10/DX12 reliant, and they'd immediately see about a bazillion new installs of W10
Remember when Halo 2 required Vista? I'm not trying to start anything, just making the point that arbitrary requirements are fucking stupid, regardless of how harmless they may be.
Remember when Halo 2 required Vista? I'm not trying to start anything, just making the point that arbitrary requirements are fucking stupid, regardless of how harmless they may be.
It wasn't Vista that killed Halo 2. It was GFWL that killed it. Most people that wanted Halo 2 bought it. Multiplayer can't even be easily revived due to how the netcode was setup.
microsoft's smartest move would be to release Halo: MCC for PC, making it Windows 10/DX12 reliant, and they'd immediately see about a bazillion new installs of W10
They tried that with H2 for Vista. Difference being Windows 10 is at least a decent OS with a fairly sizeable userbase, but I doubt they are willing to try that move again.
so if there won't be any exclusives I basically own a better xbone now neat I still highly doubt Halo will come to PC though
Remember when Halo 2 required Vista? I'm not trying to start anything, just making the point that arbitrary requirements are fucking stupid, regardless of how harmless they may be.
Requiring Vista didn't really make it a problem. GFWL was the big problem as it was clunky, got in the way, and I used my gears of war CD-key on halo 2, which I already used for gears of war. GFWL was just complete shit and no one wanted to use it.
Anyways Halo 2 requiring Vista was modded out IIRC
Are they still going to charge people to play online with Xbox Live?
Are they still going to charge people to play online with Xbox Live?
pc will eternally be free or microsoft won't win. its that simple.
Anyways Halo 2 requiring Vista was modded out IIRC
It was only modded out for Windows XP users from what I can remember, but that also resulted in the multiplayer being inaccessible for the people playing on systems running Windows XP. As for Windows 7 users (and I think some Windows 8/8.1 users), one could install the game just fine without any issues (aside from whatever issues GFWL would cause, that is).
its probably only going to work through the windows store, which is a terrible idea. Its one thing to use an independent service like steam but oh god imagine microsoft owning your games. We remember windows live.
I'm confused, so they're selling prebuilt PCs with an Xbox operating system, or what?
The XBone will be your media center and media/gaming-centric PC. It's hooked to the tele and entertainment center. They're simply blurring the border between the historic media center PC that's been stuffed into the cabinet and thus giving reason for the abandonment of the Media Center application in Windows 10. Everyone can go to the store to pick up a media center that fits in with their Win10 devices under this scheme rather than the few historic digital diehards. Looking back, there was some scoffing of when word got out that MS was making the Xbox platform media-centric with the ability to game rather than the historic gaming-centric status of consoles. The unified vision of Windows 10 is coming together more and more with each addition to the puzzle. :)

This is great, only problem is MS using their piece of shit store for it. So I probably gonna sit out on every release thats WinStore exclusive.
Remember when Halo 2 required Vista?
Fuck, I just bought an xbox one about a month ago and I can't send it back now.
No need to really. God knows what the quality of ports is gonna be so if nothing else, you have 2 platforms to play on your games if something buggers up with one of them. Kind of redundant but not entirely useless. I think.
So if I were to buy a retail Xbox One game, can I insert the disc in my PC and make the game work like that with the right software? If so, I'm totally getting Sunset Overdrive.
its probably only going to work through the windows store, which is a terrible idea. Its one thing to use an independent service like steam but oh god imagine microsoft owning your games. We remember windows live.
Unless they drastically improve the windows store. I wish they would stop being stubborn and just come to terms that they either need to partner with Steam or take the same approach as Steam.
