I hate the A-Level system more. It used to be study a subject overall for 2 years, then sit an exam. Now it's an exam each year, and one on each module, then you work out the average of your scores out of how ever many marks, then you turn the average score into a grade. Why overcomplicate it?
Because it's better than expecting us to remember everything in clear detail over a 2 year period. [editline]21st June 2012[/editline]
It really fucking annoys me that they say, GCSE's are too easy, fuck them, I work hard to get them and these people have the nerve to call them easy.
I did fuck all in the way of revision and managed to pull of B's in almost every subject, they were pretty easy to be honest.
It wont affect the international GCSE right?
My last one's today... And to be honest I really dislike it when people say exams are getting easier; I'm not saying they aren't, but theoretically if they are as easy as people claim, could they sit them right now?
It's funny how the people making decisions about public schools were most likely to have went to a paid, private school. None of them know anything about the majority of people any more.

A pathetic system of people are running this country. I not only feel sorry for students, but I loathe the ones who get it easy just because they have connections.

My aunty works in education and has had the misfortune of contact with him, she says he's a vile man who has no idea what he's doing.
It really fucking annoys me that they say, GCSE's are too easy
The thing is they are That why comparing GCSE to Brevet is the same as comparing downs syndrome to an east asian.
I shouldn't have been able to go in to an additional maths GCSE and get an a* without doing a bit of revision
GCSE IT was a complete joke. We'd spend hours doing simple things like making folders and having to screenshot each part of the process, making arrows between each button and option and writing about how we did it. For the website component, I took a website template from adobe dreamweaver and edited the HTML a bit. We also had this local company come in looking for a logo and a website. I won first place for the logo and second place for the website; apparently the design looked 'too professional' and opted for some guys totally flat-black website with white text. I got a distinction for the course, but I never did tell anyone I used a template.

Is this only in England or all across the UK? EDIT: Alright, that was bad reading.

Every IT teacher I've met has said they're useless, and I agree entirely with them, something really should be done about it.
The lib dems hate this proposal.
The Lib Dems have warned they will not accept plans to scrap GCSEs in England
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-18539463 Of course, this may be another tuition fees (Off topic: I loathe them, especially as someone from France can get free education on my Mum's tax in Scotland, but I, and English citizen cannot. Not against the French getting it, just that the English can't). I start my GCSE's next year, and yeah, the IT is useless. We don't even have Office 2007/2010 so those who couldn't already use office (AKA no one) will be screwed anyway. Also causes problems because I have 2007/2010 so when I am trying to do it I encounter issues, although being tech literate I can overcome them. Also, my IT teacher is moving to another country to teach in a better system. Gove has really messed up.
It really fucking annoys me that they say, GCSE's are too easy, fuck them, I work hard to get them and these people have the nerve to call them easy.
they are easy [editline]21st June 2012[/editline]
"GCSEs may well need improving, but a two-tier exam system which divides children into winners and losers at 14 is not the answer," he said.
oh fuck off, mixed-ability classes are the worst thing you can have

We had 3 different teachers because none of them could comprehend the shitness of the syllabus. It even made one of the teachers cry. :( [editline]21st June 2012[/editline]
they are easy
Compared to A-Levels. At the age of 15, you wouldn't say this.
Compared to A-Levels. At the age of 15, you wouldn't say this.
yes I did I revised for a grand total of 3 hours for all my gcses combined

What is everyone bitching about, ICT is being scrapped from September and replaced with computing, they announced this ages ago
yes I did I revised for a grand total of 3 hours for all my gcses combined
But that's because you are so much cleverer than everyone else, education sucks it doesn't cater for the gifted students like you, you need more of a challenge blah blah blah
But that's because you are so much cleverer than everyone else, education sucks it doesn't cater for the gifted students like you, you need more of a challenge blah blah blah
Instead it fails everyone, not challenging the gifted, failing the less talented.
Maybe the exams wouldn't so easy if you didn't have this constant struggle between exam boards to make their exams easiest to attract more customers?
It really fucking annoys me that they say, GCSE's are too easy, fuck them, I work hard to get them and these people have the nerve to call them easy.
They are easy. I got by with absolute minimum effort and got a C in everything, which is good enough to get me into a good college (the best there is where I live, in fact) and once I have my A-levels those GCSE's will be completely irrelevant
Maybe the exams wouldn't so easy if you didn't have this constant struggle between exam boards to make their exams easiest to attract more customers?
One of the proposals in the leak is for a single exam board.
Instead it fails everyone, not challenging the gifted, failing the less talented.
Nobody is 'less talented' unless they are mentally ill. There's only those that can't motivate themselves due to awful parenting and lack of self discipline. GCSEs should be replaced with something much more difficult so that they are actually worth something. If that means they are out of reach for those that don't care then great.

There are loads of reasons why school fails people. The education system doesn't work for some people, boys in particular have a harder time learning things at school than girls due to the way lessons are constructed.

There is absolutely no reason to make things easier and devalue the time of people that want something valuable just for the sake of people that are already failures.

You can't write people off as failures.
