Whats better is the actual cockpit The pilots sit below everything.

If the beam is shone into the cockpit it can refract on the thousands of surface scratches on the aircraft's windscreen, making the whole windscreen temporarily light up and blinding the pilot, he added.
m
And the actual purpose is? I got one for a real purpose, but I doubt that everyone at the UK streets at night carries a weapo- Oh wait.
Becuz we z all carriez wepponz mate innit.
www.dealextreme.com Come get your lasers, kids.
I have a green laser I ordered from there(5mw in US) and it only works half the time I try to use it, I am disappointed.
Was it one with "True" in it's name because I had a 50mW one "True" one and it was awesome, worked all the time.
i have one simelar to this they seem like they go on forever, i can't blame the uk gov't .
I don't understand. The odds of a laser pointer going into the pilots eyes are extremely unlikely as the planes belly is what's facing the ground, not the windows. You would have to be at certain angle to get it into the cockpit and even still, because the plane is moving it makes it that much harder to aim at it. The UK is just being overly paranoid about something that's completely harmless.
This isn't just about planes, I heard a while ago the police where having problems with people shining these lasers into police helicopters, that'd be pretty easy to do.
Lasers are harmless against aircraft.
yes all those pilots are just lying cunts [editline]09:24PM[/editline] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lasers_and_aviation_safety
The danger is not from the laser, by some ridiculous fluke, happening to directly hit the pilot in the eyes. When the laser hits the glass of the cockpit, it gets refracted inside all over the fucking place. It's like a rave at 30,000 feet. It isn't just planes either. Helicopters are becoming targets too, because they tend to hover at one spot for extended periods (e.g. searching for someone in distress on a mountainside etc.) and so are easier to aim at.
What the rocket fails?
This is 2009.
Lasers are harmless against aircraft.
Booo!

500mw laser skip to 1:10
You don't have to worry much in the us. The us is so anal with laser that you cannot not legally own a laser stronger then 5mw. aka. In order to feel any heat generated. You will have to have the laser in the same spot for about 5 hours. However, any laser has a pretty damn good range. I WANT A FUCKING LASER STRONGER THEN 5MW! wait can anyone clarify us laser laws? I really want a laser.
Now will people shut the fuck up about Australia doing this?
Only in the U.K...
This is 2009.
Ah it will explode when it's being transported to the AA gun site.
This seems like a perfectly good regulation. You can still do whatever you like with a laser pointer, just don't go using it as a weapon like some fucking cunts do.
Only in the U.K...
Read the post above yours, fucktard. And the post above that.
What? That's weird because your eyes have no nerve endings, which is part of the reason why when doing eye surgery it usually isn't a problem for them do just not give you any sedatives (and because they need you to be awake). Also I've had lasers shown in my eye, they don't do do any permanant optical damage unless you stare into one for a while... and even then there's no "scarring". Though I'm talking about standard red laser pointers, I don't know if you are talking about a high powered green one or not.
You don't have to have nerves to get burned :downs: and depending on the mW, you can be blinded instantly by them.
Why don't the UK just come out with it and enslave their people.
I want to shine a 300 Watt Co2 laser at the plane and make a hole in the cockpit window now thats a laser pointer
Heh, laser torches. Why can't they say laser pointers? Laser torches sound like something a futuristic Indiana Jones would use.
Awesome, heil Hitler. The UK/Europe is officially becoming the most fucked up place on the planet, despite all the bizarre news out of China/Australia. [editline]09:00PM[/editline]
Why don't the UK just come out with it and enslave their people.
Exactly.

BBC: This just in, water guns have been banned in the UK.
dead to uk
Heh, laser torches. Why can't they say laser pointers? Laser torches sound like something a futuristic Indiana Jones would use.
That's just the U.K, they use older words for lots of things. Certain roads are called dual carriage ways even though there's no carriages on it and such. Anyway I think some people underestimate how powerful these high grade lasers can be. My friend had a weaker one that could burn paper and flammable objects when he pointed the laser at it
I was with three friends, it was late evening and the area we were going to and where the kid was a regular beach party area, anyway there was a more pressing issue was the massive pain coming from my head and eyes. I did find out who did it though, this kid nicknamed Buddha, he went to prison eventually for stabbing someone though, so at least some form of justice has been served. TO post below, yeah he did xD He had a bebo account and I saw all these comments saying they hope he gets released soon and stuff, and his dad was saying he needs to all the support he can get. Fortunately at least one person saw sense and wrote that 'he fucking stabbed someone, he deserves prison', something along those lines though :)
Watch out, he might have a friend named Jesus.
Not all laser owners shine them into planes, stop hating on the laser men. Do we arrest every Muslim because they are terrorists. No so leave the laser owners alone YOU PIG DISCRIMINATION ASSHOLES. Stay in school.
