Religion that drives people to commit violence is... concerning.
There's 2 large religions, christians and muslims. I'd say that muslims have done some way worse shit than christians this decade.
You're not seeing the point being made which is that the post originally quoted makes a dumb and hateful sweeping statement about 1.8 billion people

Oh I understand. I know some muslims and I hate them as much as I hate christian people. I'm not saying all of them are rapists murderers. I just hate that so many people have to die because of religious beliefs all the time. Maybe stop listening to your imaginary friend and tolerate other people??? it's not hard

Sure I think we can all agree with that, sadly humans are a little more complicated than that - bring in global socioeconomics and politics and it's even more complicated. People like to act like they have a simple answer to issues when they don't have a fucking clue about relevant fields of study.
Im going to ignore the rest of your post because it's comically wrong and others have pointed out what was wrong, but let me make a point about this statement you made here.
We. Are. Not. Sweeping. This. Under. The. Rug.
what was done here is wrong, the criminals in this must be punished, absolutely. I CHALLENGE you to find someone here that truly believes that criminals can be given a free pass for the crimes due to what religion/color/race/ethnicity they may be.
So PLEASE, stop strawmanning us in saying that we want to give people a free pass. absolutely not. What we are saying it is wrong to stereotype a MASSIVE group of people who do no wrong because a few of them are morons.
Whos 'us'
a lot of these people arent educated in any way, I honestly am not surprised
pierre is probably trolling
ishwoo, please us googles before you state "factS"
EDIT: by people I mean refugees, not all of islam before someone misquotes the shit out of me

People dying because of religious beliefs fucking sucks, I agree. But things are more complicated than some people seem to think they are, especially when you're bringing in the complexities of a global world and modern socio-economic beliefs and policies. There's no simple solution to extremism in any religion, but it is admissible that Islamic extremism is one of the biggest problems faced by the world at present.
Christianity has evolved to a certain extent where people mostly don't use religion as an excuse to kill people (I'm aware there are some Christian terror groups) but it took a couple thousand years to mature properly in that direction. The issue with Islam is that every cleric interprets it in different ways, and many of them favor a hardline stance when it comes to their religious books. Granted many modern practicing Muslims are far less hardline about certain beliefs, especially if they were well educated and exposed to differing viewpoints from a relatively early age, or are practicing members of a moderate sect, such as Shi'a muslims and Sufis.
I personally believe that Islam has the potential to adapt to the modern world, as long as more and more of its practicing members shun extremist and hardline sects and stop taking the word of their holy book as being superior to secular law. If this fails to happen, Wahhabism/Salafism (the primary extremist interpretation of Islam) could very well die out over time.
