it`s true just saw the mass effect 3 page get updated went ahead and preorderd it at amazon UK and came back to find the mass effect 3 page gone so i cancelled my preorders at game if this turns to be a a really elaborate hoax i will not be a happy chappy ¬_¬
Well this is disappointing. I'm not sure whether to place a new preorder or wait for Game to confirm this. considering how quickly collectors editions are selling out I hope they're quick about it.
dunno about UK, but over here GAME is the most expensive out of the game shops i have in my town. Gamestop is way better.
Well this is disappointing.
Fuck you Game, GAME is the only UK retailer that offers the n7 Vakyrie rifle and N7 Defender armor pre-order bonus; that was GAME, Gamestop and EB Games exclusive. FUCKING EA / GAME / BIOWARE
Again, from EA:
For further information regarding the Mass Effect 3 Standard Edition with the N7 Warfare Gear in-game weapons pack, please check this page later today.
http://www.ea.com/uk/1/mass-effect-3-update-1
Funny, because I walked in to GAME today and saw "MASS EFFECT 3 PRE-ORDER HERE" plastered all over the shop.
Wow people in the UK put up with this? lol
Wow people in the UK put up with this? lol
Have to, GAME pretty much runs a monopoly on this market. Other than a few Gamestop stores in major towns and the dashing of Gamestation whacked next to them, GAME is the only large nationwide retailer, there are some smaller ones like chips who have been around longer but just don't have the corporative backend to get in the good stuff. And lastly, if it wasn't for EA doing this "recommended sellers" bullshit like they do with the battlefield servers we wouldn't have this problem with pre-orders being from only certain places. Damages the fucking market and makes quick money.
GAME have nothing but Wii and DS titles, even their Xbox and PS3 sections are fairly shoddy compared to the old days.
GAME have nothing but Wii and DS titles, even their Xbox and PS3 sections are fairly shoddy compared to the old days.
Their 360 sections are usually quite large... And full of summer blockbuster FPS games that nobody wants any more because everyone has them. This is hardly a "winner" thing you imbeciles. As much as you would love to deny it, we still need physical retailers, and if GAME does go down, the UK is fucked, we don't have any large chains dedicated to gaming outside of GAME and GameStation, which are basically the same company now, and I would rather not have to deal with shitholes like HMV for new releases. Ordering games from Amazon and Play works, yeah, but it doesn't mean it's the best option, sometimes I actually want to be able to play the game as soon as I buy the bloody thing.
Gamestation it is.
Gamestation it is.
Gamestation is owned by GAME
FFUUUUU
Wow, last time I was in GAME, the sales guy was trying pretty hard to convince me to pre-order it.
Amazon pre-order is up: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/search?ie=UTF8&field-hidden-keywords=B007ETERN6|B007ETFJE2|B007ETFSDO&index=videogames
Wait so they are stocking SSX? My friday should not be ruined then.
What the fuck. I work at GAME and now I can't even get my most anticipated game from my own fucking store? The quality has gone to shit here recently.
Good, ME3 is a publishing trainwreck.
Where are you getting your facts from?
When it says that people who preordered will be getting £5 in gift vouchers, does that mean they aren't giving them their money back for the preorder?
When it says that people who preordered will be getting £5 in gift vouchers, does that mean they aren't giving them their money back for the preorder?
Of course they're giving the money back, it would be illegal for them to keep it. The voucher is just a good will gesture.
Why wouldn't they stock it? It's going to be one of the highest selling games of the year.
They are obviously in deep shit. I've noticed that my Game store has gotten less and less shelves recently. The PC game section is plastered over three shelves (not the proper games, but the shitty 3 for £10 ones) and most of the console shelves have only one game per place. The staff also seem to be a bit on edge at times, jumping at the slightest chance to sell something and trying really hard to get people to sign up for things (maybe they always were like that, I'm not sure).
Why wouldn't they stock it? It's going to be one of the highest selling games of the year.
You seem to have a serious problem with coming into threads and not reading them.
This follows a very rough year for the chain, which has had credit problems that have prevented it from stocking some new releases

You guys don't get Gamestop as well as GAME?
A Gamestop is mega rare in the UK, they're common in the Republic of Ireland though.
I'm really confused about Mass Effect 3. You have people screaming how EA is greedy pigs forcing shitty spyware down our throats then one second later they start talking about how they've already pre-orded it and that Bioware are the best videogame writers on the planet and how stupid Game is for denying access to this glorious savior of gaming. So does Facepunch hate it or what?
Haha I don't live in the UK so this isn't a problem for me
It's because their shelves are full of brilliant games such as London tube simulator and Wood cutting simulator.
Really sucks for all those who pre-ordered. Especially if it was the Collector's Edition.
I'm really confused about Mass Effect 3. I'm not going to miss out on the conclusion of a series I've followed for nearly 5 years because of some stupid vendetta.
And then EA was all like: 'AHAHAHAHAHAHA- money.'
people buy games from game? lol i feel for ya, i only ever bought subscription cards for EVE and shit from there
