"English language newspaper" includes newspapers in the U.S.
Good riddance

Stats don't lie, 1 in 3 English language newspapers sold on a Sunday is a NOTW.

A* Journalism right here. Those 12 year old kids crashing planes in Just Cause 2 MUST BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE!
never heard of "News of the World".
Updates - Paddy Ashdown and Nick Clegg were warned about Coulson by Rusbridger, long guy walking the aisles of Mumnet Towers, Cameron rebuffed them.
...word is that Dacre and the Mail may be incriminated, according to Alastair "I did Murdoch first" Campbell. It does make sense, though - coverage has been scant there. A tranche of emails may have "disappeared".

Also, possible sneak preview, according to GFawkes... I laugh at the hagiographers - illegal actions or not they are ravenous tabloid hacks in deed.
The 7.5m circulation figure is a lie, though, according to Wikipedia - no paper gets over 3mil.

A radio presenter said, "If you are buying a copy this Sunday, make sure to also buy an adult magazine from the top shelf. That way you can wrap the magazine around the paper, to hide the shame of buying News of the World."

There's two figures floating around, number of copies sold and number of readers. I dunno how they work out number of readers but it is higher (as you would expect, more than one person reads each paper).
Couldn't find a more relevant thread for this, but there is a petition to stop Murdoch buying BskyB etc:

It's nice to finally see a shitty newspaper being brought to account for its actions.
They hacked the details of the Queen.....

Is this a new one? I signed an avaaz petition a few days ago calling for a halt in the attempt to buy the remainder of BskyB.

Yup. Possibly Gordon Broon as well.
Initial inquiries started yesterday, they're questioning the people who filed the Met report in 2006. The King of Darkness ("prince" is reserved for Randy Mandy), James M'doch, and Rebekah Brooks are to face the inquiry on Monday.
News International has annulled their agreement to spin off Sky News from BSkyB, forcing the DCMS to refer the purchase to the Competition Commission. A Labour motion opposing the BSkyB purchase is likely to recieve support from all parties; the BSkyB bid is politically dead for the moment. Murdoch may sell off News Corporation (for it to land in the lap of Desmond, I suppose) in order to make the purchase more palatable.
