What absolute bullshit. I can't believe the police are 'powerless to do anything'. They are breaking and entering, they don't get any rights except the rights of a criminal. Where I live, they'd be paying me for every broken or damaged item, for people to clean up their mess, and they'd be having new locks installed for me. They'd also be in jail. If the police told me they can't do anything, I'd round up a few of my good friends, bring some rifles and pistols, break down the back door, and scream at them until they left. Anyone that resists would get a round in the leg, anyone that fights back will get one in the chest, because living in a state that practices castle doctrine gives me the right to justifiable homicide on MY property against INTRUDERS(if they may violently attack) and violent attackers. I can't believe the people would support any government that protects tresspassers. How ridiculous. These people would find out about the 'Make My Day Law' around here.

The squaters don't have rights actually but at the moment are in possession and you do need an eviction notice. Then if that fails you can have the police throw them out more or less.
