The fact that they feel justified in doing this is just ridiculous.
The fact that they feel justified in doing this is just ridiculous.
Not really, if they need a home it may be possible to fell justified about it.
Not really, f they need a home it may be possible to fell justified about it.
I prefer how it is in America, where trespassers are arrested rather than catered to.
I prefer how it is in America, where trespassers are arrested rather than catered to.
I don't, but I'm some socialist librul Satanist.
This is like saying it's ok for Chavs to go around and steal cars because they cannot afford one. :frogdowns:
Get out of here S.Q.U.A.T.T.E.R
Not really, if they need a home it may be possible to fell justified about it.
Just because they feel justified doesn't mean they are. Like how I really felt I deserved to pass that exam recently but was 6 points short :saddowns: I doubt you're old enough to own a house, so I won't ask you if you would be comfortable yourself with unknowingly letting your house up to bums. In other words it's still trespassing for personal benefit. Maybe these people would have had somewhere to live rightfully had they put some effort into asking around the neighborhood for any lonely old folks to stay with temporarily (there are lots of lonely seniors who would appreciate some company and assistance with house work), but nope, they had to break into a massive estate to pretend to live like kings. [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline]
I don't, but I'm some socialist librul Satanist.
I doubt even a liberal wouldn't see the flaw in the logic "If I can't afford it I should be given it for free".
Not really, if they need a home it may be possible to fell justified about it.
There's a substantial difference between feeling justified and actually being justified. Are you really THAT much of a tool or just a troll?
As said before, cut off the power and water. He could also try various methods of psychological warfare. Aiming loudspeakers at the house and blasting shitty music over them 24/7 for instance. Wait, they'd like that. Find a different kind of music that they'd hate, but isn't classical.
Well then he would get in shit for pissing off the neighbours.
Maybe they should go back to Italy. Freeloading swine.
I'm out of this thread because this just pisses me off so much. I'll try to forget this whole story.
‘When the owner came on Monday in the morning we told him we were squatting, and he was really aggressive"
Well no fucking shit, stupid squatters, I want to find the owner and tell him i'm helping him get them out.

Click here for additional rage: http://www.squatter.org.uk/ Yes, they have a fucking website. :argh:
and I thought US laws were bad [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline] What if the "home owner" dupes the squatters out of the house and turned out to be a squatter squatting a squatters squat the whole time.
and I thought US laws were bad [editline]22nd October 2010[/editline] What if the "home owner" dupes the squatters out of the house and turned out to be a squatter squatting a squatters squat the whole time.
I read in their FAQ that if you can somehow gain entry to the house while it is unoccupied you can have the police evict the squatters. The squatting FAQ recommends changing the locks and never leaving the target house empty. These laws are seriously dodgy.
People like this piss me off. I'd try and get them to attack me and turn it into a police matter.

They claim the fact they cannot afford to rent gives them the right to take over the Victorian property in Camberwell, South-East London. What kind of crap is this. Basically lazy pathetic people whom don't want to do anything with their life automatically get ownership rights?
What shitheads. Go get a fucking job and buy your own house.
Punch self in face and get a black eye, say the squatters did it. Or break a window and say they did it to gain access.
I would seal every door and window except for one. And then throw a couple wasp's nests in there and then seal the last window.
I would seal every door and window except for one. And then throw a couple wasp's nests in there and then seal the last window.
How would you keep the wasps in the nests while moving them?
This is infuriating. Are there any laws against him busting down his own front door and physically throwing them out?
Yes. Though I guess what usually happens is, that if you do get enough force to bust in and throw them out, it gets thrown under the carpet. Looking at the FAQ on the squat website (which I'd consider to be accurate, they honestly wouldn't benefit from putting lies on there) he could get the police to throw them out, if he was recently displaced by them. Aka went to get some groceries and they set up a squat there. I'd gather that going on a vacation and returning to find squaters would also count for him being an RDP - but that's not for me to decide. Likewise they could be thrown out by the police if there was someone supposed to move in and this was blocked by their entry. Yep the holiday squat does seem to count as displacement http://www.keywee.co.uk/archives/903 So it is possible the article has some parts missing. The italian look like absolute asses neverteles though.
There was one a few years back where a guy had built a shack in the grounds of a multi million pound mansion, and was squatting on the land. After 10 years he got a slice of the land. I fucking hate the UK's retarded laws. Yup after 10 years, they legally own the land. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adverse_possession#England_and_Wales
I can essentially understand ownership trough ususcapio - it's pretty normal everywhere. Though I do find it odd that a bona fidei is not a requirement. The thing is 10 years is only applicable if you register, in which case the registry first notifies the original owner who then has a 65 day objection period. There's still a 12 year adverse possession timeframe when the registration doesn't happen. Likewise there's pretty funny ways you can avoid those timeframes. For instance grant a short term permission (a week) during the course of the squat and once this permission runs out, the count down is restarted and has to run anew.
Man reading this makes me rage as fuck. Poor Mr. Gupta. Someone needs to help the guy. Well at least there's a hearing in two weeks, hope it works out.
So.... they can't afford jack shit, but can afford to have the locks changed and 15 keys made. Wow these people need to be shot.
Click here for additional rage: http://www.squatter.org.uk/ Yes, they have a fucking website. :argh:
Says on the website they have an office. I wonder if anyones ever tried to squat it from them...
