Excluding Russia, French is the third most spoken native language in Europe. English is the second.
Guess which one is the first.
Not to mention the already existing "sprachraum" and the fact that Germany is fairly easy to learn for English speakers, since those languages are fairly similar.
So, It's kinda like the "freiwillige" SS brigades from back in the day or?

English the most spoken language in Europe counting it as the first language in some countries and the second in others, gets to 51% of the EU population speaking it.
German with 16% of the population as the first language, 11% second language. 27% of EU's population speaks it.
French comes close with 24% of the population speaking it.
In the end, it would be retarded for the official language to be German.

Have you some sort of aversion towards the German language or what.
German alongside the obvious English standard would be the most sensible thing.

No, it's a shit language
Spanish is Spain's second language

Well it isn't the first language of everyone that lives there since lots of people emigrate to Spain. I guess those people make up a big enough chunk of the population to make the fact they learnt Spanish as a second language mean something.
So, It's kinda like the "freiwillige" SS brigades from back in the day or?
These aren't volunteers but alot of trained full-time military personnel as well as special forces, if anything it'd be like a multinational PMC force minus the 'Private' and 'Company'.

Don't forget Basque and Catalan.

You can't handle the sheer badassery of the German language I see :v:
A European common army would be awesome especially with all the threat from the middle-east and possible need for boots on the ground in places like Ukraine.

What is that? I'm actually a german version of a weeaboo. Don't know what to call it though. Germaboo?
This is relatively old news, there have been these joint Euro things going on for almost 20 years. They're really nothing more than EU kabuki theater, "Oh look we cooperate so well when we're doing nothing". The following line in the DefenseNews is the most important one:
While there will be close German-Dutch cooperation in peacetime, one country is not obligated to join the other if it goes on a military mission.
Besides anything military related to Germany is bound to be a farce, they've been underfunding and cutting their defense for a while now. They not even close to being at the 2% GDP requirement for NATO. Example, Germany has wanted to turn their military into a smaller, more mobile force that is able to respond globally. Not a bad goal, the problem however is that in the 10 or so years they've been doing this they haven't bothered to acquire any of the equipment needed for that, like the critical component of transport planes capable of those kind of airlift operations. But they've certainly slashed their armor, and troop transport levels.

It's the logo of the EU from the game Battlefield 2142.
I think it's good Germany and Poland finally build some army ...
certain countries on East and SouthEast understand only the number of warheads and caliber of your weapons while setting some deals ...

germaboo if it is about specifically germans
naziboo if it is about exclusively nazis, or as a derogatory term for the first term

No, my love for Germany lies within the attitude of the society and the attitude they have towards work.

You can't solve everything with compound words.
You can't solve everything with compound words.
Kinda makes learning the vocabulary a little easier.
We have a new thing and need to name it? Let's just smash the definition of what it is into one word and that shall be its name :v:

I meant it as a joke, but now I'm kind of jealous
Germany seems like the only competent country in the EU. They've lost two World Wars terribly and been split up by the Cold War, only reuniting some 20 years ago, and they're again the strongest EU country.

German efficiency.
But let's face it. Regarding the army, a true european union is inevitable. Guess diplomacy works huh Germany.

You couldn't have put it better. They have built themselves up from nothing. I hate it when people from the UK say things like "2 world wars and 1 world cup dooh dah dooh dah." I get a lot of abuse for having a German mother. I usually reply with something like the fact that the UK economy is failing. Oh and Germany has football, bear and the god-send CURRY WURST
sorry /rant
Wouldn't it be more logical to have European nations build up better armies individually and use the already existing european military cooperation rather than having an "european army". This is another step forward a federalized European Union and that's not a good thing.
Once again, Europe needs to work with the nations, not against them.
