Just announced, the Swiss Airports will shut down at midnight as well. That's when the cloud will reach Switzerland.

Scotland and Northern Ireland opening their airports.
This is TheIceman, reporting from Iceland. I would like to publicly say "I'm sorry" for shutting down your airports and scattering ashes over your countries.
I'm sorry.

You better be
It's really odd not having planes fly over...
It started raining here in Norway when the ash crossed our borders. :saddowns:
Yesterday it was nice wheater and now it's raining :( Poor Norway.
And me.
My maths teacher went to Thailand for her vacation, and she can't get back now, we havn't had math for a week :o
if all goes well and flights are grounded till next week, then someone doesn't have school next week :c00l:
mainly because most of my teachers are on holiday
looks like some of that ash is slowly headed over toward the east coast.
Good thing I'm in California :smug:

Technically the airports were never closed, there was just no airspace around it that planes were allowed to fly in.
My dad was going to fly to Britain yesterday, flight got canceled so I didn't get a free weekend. :smith:
whatever happened to this fucking ash?
God dammit rule 32
I wonder if this has to do with the recent earth quakes.

Enough of the puns, the first 2 were funny now they are not
I've just been evacuated to Glasgow from Iceland on a special charter flight to get students out of the country. We basically missed the whole day we had planned but the insurance basically said get on the plane or we stop covering you.
It was apparently the first flight back into the UK so I stood behind a news presenter for a couple of minutes asking my friend where the toilets were.

All 16 German international airports are closed now and are meant to stay closed until at least Sunday/Monday.
United Airlines cancelled all their travels from and to Europe until April 22nd - maybe even longer. Same goes for Lufthansa and other airlines.

I'm checking their website daily now. Great. My fiancee and I, we got our airplane and rail tickets merely two days ago. We booked a flight into the US for May, 2nd, through 4 states (California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah) and wanted to get married in Vegas. D8 Dunno if our trip will be cancelled (including a refund) or if it's still going to happen.

fuck
I'm assuming it's all over now (at least in the UK). Today we had fucking epic weather in Hull with not a single cloud in the sky.
It's still spouting out ash.
Eyjafjallajokull, anyone tried pronouncing that yet?
Ey-jaf-jalla-jok-kull? Probably not.
There isn't even a cloud in the sky where I am, nice blue skies.
There are no clouds because there are no planes flying.
My mother is still stuck in Spain, has been since Thursday morning. She says she won't be here until at least Monday morning. :v:
She and a bunch of other teachers from her school were away over the Easter break. There is going to be lots of happy school kids on Monday.
