NASA probe spots mysterious ‘glint' on surface of dwarf planet Ceres

they appear to be eyes so i will just have to assume ceres itself is the alien
I'm going to cross my fingers that it is something artificial and therefor alien, possibly something like this, but I'm not going to wish too much.
Still, the fact that something natural could reflect so much light so effectively is startling.
it's probably something on the lens or some other optical anomaly.
You guys realise Aliens aren't real right? If they were real, it's not a good thing.
It's a distress signal from a man lost at sea, I saw it on Man vs Wild. I don't know how he got from the Pacific to Ceres but he needs our help
Guys it's the death star

Na that's mimas
Still it is going to drive conspiracy theorists mad

The probability of other life existing is statistically close to 100% you know this right? Like, because we exist there is almost a 0% chance that we are alone.

These guys don't represent all aliens. They're not all bad. #alienrights

Nah all their images have shown the bright spot. It's likely some ice on the surface reflecting the sunlight.

They don't exist!
But if they do, they're bad.
Logic, everyone.
Nah all their images have shown the bright spot. It's likely some ice on the surface reflecting the sunlight.
Well some sort of optical anomaly like that yes.

doesnt that mean there is water on that planet
its just a shiny spot guys, ceres-ously, relax

But aliens doesn't mean intelligent life.
doesnt that mean there is water on that planet
Dwarf-planet*
And it's not unlikely.
doesnt that mean there is water on that planet
There's more than just water ice bud.
so looked into this a bit and its more of a stain than a huge shining beacon of light

go home everyone, its probably just a volcano
A volcano on something as small as Ceres is very unlikely, and volcanic activity would have lead to many of the craters being replaced with a smoother surface, which obviously hasn't happened.
Ice ice baby.

I don't think you understand how extraterrestrial life could work in a universe so vast us 'intelligent" lifeforms can barely comprehend it.
It's basically 100% guaranteed life is somewhere else in the universe. There's most likely another race of beings just as sophisticated and intelligent as us as well. All of them are just probably lightyears away from us.

Isn't it so vast that there's even the possibility of a planet with humanoids who call their galaxy the goat-milky way, having the very same argument on tentaclepunch.com?
MH370
Anyone ever read The Sentinel by Arthur C. Clarke?

it is big enough on its own but there's still a finite amount of matter, i guess it could maybe still happen but you would have to swap it for some equally unlikely thing (like a planet of Mr T's). so you can't have both your Planet of the Pitiable Fools and your tentaclepunch.com because that would just be downright silly
It's a solar panel.
Powering the lights in the structures below the surface where the aliens live.
If their solar panels reflects light more than the ground they've got some shitty engineers up there.
It looks to be fully operational...
It's the aliums guys!
some fucker is having a sick-ass party up there and i'm not invited?
Ceres is just the disco ball of the solar system. Planetary boogie aww yeh.
