its the tip of a mass relay buried inside the planet
that fucking green ogre is going to be pissed
"Get out of me planet"
The moon has something similar in the Aristarchus crater. For some reason the dust is shiny there, or something. There are lots of conspiritard theories about alien fusion reactors and shit,
Could just be swamp gas.
If it's aliens that'd be pretty cool. Doesn't have to be smart aliums or nothing, I think we'd all settle for shiny piles of bio goop.
But aliens doesn't mean intelligent life.
That's generally implied. [editline]27th February 2015[/editline]
I don't think you understand how extraterrestrial life could work in a universe so vast us 'intelligent" lifeforms can barely comprehend it. It's basically 100% guaranteed life is somewhere else in the universe. There's most likely another race of beings just as sophisticated and intelligent as us as well. All of them are just probably lightyears away from us.
They're either so far away that they're beyond our galaxy or so far evolved that we wouldn't know if we saw them. So it's easier to say they don't exist because it's unlikely we'd come into contact with them. If there were another race of sentient bipeds who were technologically superior, they'd probably try to wipe us out because we could become a threat to them.
They're either so far away that they're beyond our galaxy or so far evolved that we wouldn't know if we saw them.
What's your source on that?
Either a reflective surface what an asteroid caused or there are structures on the planet that causes reflection.
Did you guys know that Ceres is so far from the sun that the sun looks like any other star?
Did you guys know that Ceres is so far from the sun that the sun looks like any other star?
No, but that's just because it isn't. It's pretty close to the sun (about 3AU). Edit: What you're saying isn't even true for Pluto.

To be perfectly honest, I was just trying to be goofy, not to sound smart. Well, I found this, but I'm not really in the mood to look up any better source than this one: http://www.fromquarkstoquasars.com/how-does-the-sun-appear-on-other-planets/
Can I get a sombrero guy?

Anyway, Ceres is in between Mars and Jupiter. The article says the Sun would look like any other star from Pluto, then goes on to say it would be much brighter. If I remember correctly, it would be a bit like walking around in full moon. Pluto is still ~6250 times closer to our sun than any other star. Edit: Okay, I totally didn't remember correctly. It's much brighter than the full moon.
Ayy lmao (User was banned for this post ("meme shit" - OvB))
Can someone enlighten me on this meme? On topic: Is the picture of the planet black/white or is it just a very grey planet?
fucking aliens confirmed
They would be Ceresians, aliens are foreign.
That's generally implied. [editline]27th February 2015[/editline] They're either so far away that they're beyond our galaxy or so far evolved that we wouldn't know if we saw them. So it's easier to say they don't exist because it's unlikely we'd come into contact with them. If there were another race of sentient bipeds who were technologically superior, they'd probably try to wipe us out because we could become a threat to them.
Literally the stereotypical thought process of a close-minded person. "If I close my eyes its not real!!" Unbelievable.
You guys realise Aliens aren't real right? If they were real, it's not a good thing.
Just curious, why do you think aliens existing is a bit a thing? And they do exist, it's virtually impossible for some form of life to not exist out there but ever making contact is much less likely than them existing. So you explained your 'reasoning' I just missed it:
They're either so far away that they're beyond our galaxy or so far evolved that we wouldn't know if we saw them. So it's easier to say they don't exist because it's unlikely we'd come into contact with them. If there were another race of sentient bipeds who were technologically superior, they'd probably try to wipe us out because we could become a threat to them.
Well being infinitely far away doesn't mean they don't exist and a race of sentient logically thinking bipeds would probably be just as curious about us as we would be about them and generally wiping a species out isn't the best way to find out about them.
Literally the stereotypical thought process of a close-minded person. "If I close my eyes its not real!!" Unbelievable.
he's completely right about the "evolved beyond us" part though. since we were just crappy dumb animals until very very recently, where we expanded massively in an extremely short amount of time, the chances of running into an alien species that's also on a similar level as us would be really unlikely - it's like if you're in a skyscraper and you're trying to stop an elevator on a floor that's only one inch tall. so if/when we find aliens they're either gonna be animals like we were, or they're gonna be so advanced as to be as far from us as we are from apes. Can't wait to see the pictures from the James Webb telescope in the near future of this object.

I think if an alien species were so advanced some would want to study us to gain insight into their own history/the development of species/just sheer curiosity, some would want to blow us up, some would want to enslave us and others may want to integrate us into their society. I think us humans would do the same if we encountered a lesser developed species.

Mass Effect Relay. Confirmed buried inside.
its the tip of a mass relay buried inside the planet
Dammit.
