No
That press conference doesn't mean anything. So what they knew about him. His an American citizen and has equal rights as any other person. How can people criticize the police for not doing anything then when they're fighting everything the police tries to do now.
What do you want: freedoms or a proactive intervening government.
I just posted the info?
That wording in the Tweet is so god damn click-baity. No, they didn't become aware of the shooting that just happened in 2013. They became aware of the suspect's suspicious activities. There's a huge fucking difference.
Maybe a typo and they meant shooter, idk
He is trying to say "I was right all along" but how can he do this without seeming like an asshole
he failed at that
So what exactly does the West plan to do about the rise of radical islam? We watch tragedy after tragedy unfold, telling everyone on the internet how sad this makes us and then just forget about it in a month or so.
Two extremists stroll into the offices of Charlie Hebdo with kalashnikovs and kill 12 people. The world mourns, Facebook does their hollow sympathy bullshit and people move on. Ten months later 137 people are killed in Paris, we mourn, we move on. 14 people killed in San Bernardino one month later and now 50+ more innocent people have to die because another disgusting, extremist, fuck-head wants their name on the martyr list.
When are our governments going to wake the fuck up and realise that something has to be done? This kind of radical mentality and backwards fucking beliefs have absolutely no place in our modern world. I'm sick of this fucking bullshit endangering innocent people who are just trying to live their lives.

Do you want more security and less freedoms? That's what you're asking for.
We honestly can't stop these attacks and any attempts to do so will remove our freedom and liberty and make the whole process of trying to become safer, redundant.

He was a U.S.-born citizen. I am not sure what you are trying to suggest here. The FBI did the best they can do.

So we should do fuck-all then? Just wait for another airport to be bombed, another plane to be blown up, another hundred people to be shot down in cold blood?

Make it harder for people to use guns.

I'm not suggesting anything. I have a lot of muslims friends who are as disgusted, probably even more disgusted by this than I am. If that's honestly the best the FBI can do then we might as well just lay down and get fucked by extremism.

What do you think can be done? the point's made that no matter what safety measures you take, there is always somebody determined enough to attempt bypassing them. No matter how much surveillance you institute, no matter how much security you pass into law, no matter what countermeasures you put in place to prevent attacks from happening, it's not going to be permanently possible to eradicate guerilla and lone wolf attacks.

You are never going to hear a news report that is even comparable to the magnitude of this one— if the FBI had successfully foiled a terrorist plot. That is why you think the FBI is failing.
If the news reported every FBI-foiled terrorist plot as heavily as this news article? You wouldn't even say this right now.

What should be done? The NSA already has all of your emails, all of my emails, they can mass data search anything and everything, you and I have no privacy, and you're saying "We need less" because these things can still happen.
Look, I get it, you're afraid, I am too, I just refuse to give up more freedoms and liberties to stop being afraid. Giving those up, I'll just be more afraid, with less freedoms and liberties.
perhaps we could try finding a way to curb ISIS' propaganda machine

If you're afraid of being in a terrorist attack you need to reevaluate your life and get off Reddit .

Keep in mind that we're already doing a fuck-lot of work to keep these things from happening. Government agencies spend billions annually on rooting out and disrupting this type of shit, but we rarely hear of it because, well, nothing much happened. If we really did "fuck-all" about it there would be significantly more successful domestic terrorist attacks.
It's inevitable however that some slip through the cracks. We could create a totalitarian police-state that monitors every single citizen for suspicious activity, but that'd be just as "terrorizing" as the occasional shooting.

Dunno where you live but in France it's a very real threat.

I know governments are doing a lot, but when one of the biggest mass shootings """slips through the cracks""" I wonder if they're doing enough. IIRC the paris attacks were pulled off by people who went to Syria and back multiple times.
Donald Trump reacting in that way is really depressing. As a human being how pathetic do you get.
*50 murdered
*wow here's my chance to get some gains on this
This is really awful, I feel sick, this man doesn't and it goes to show.
Apparently the father claimed that it was his "hatred towards gays" that made him shoot the gay club down... Yeah, no shit Sherlock!

what's even funny it won't work, Last time it happened was Paris, aka the GOP Primary. He is digusting the democrats and independants with that remark.

Honestly, not even George Bush or Ronald Reagan would react like this. I'm staggered.

Oh fuck, Could you Imagine George W Bush's Reaction to Donald's Statement, no fucking wonder the Bushes aren't endorsing him.

Sure they haven't existed for a long, long time but I think restricting people's rights like that has been very un-American and recently the country has realized that. Basic liberty goes hand in hand with American values, it is American values so really this terrorist attack is an attack on the American way of life.
That same way of life also requires that we put a leash on the government to keep it from trampling everything we hold dear.
So what you seem to be implying is that the destruction of who we are as a people, as a society, is worth it as long as the "bad guys" get caught. Thing is, the rights of everyone in that bar to gather as they please and do as they please so as long as it doesn't harm the life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness of others would be indirectly under assault as well. Arguing for "doing more" means arguing for enabling the government to go back on it's word, letting go of that leash a little bit, which also could mean going back on LGBT rights many people have suffered for in this country.
I'm not willing to sacrifice any of that, nor am I willing to let the guy who did this succeed in bringing us down.

He's honestly such a disgusting and despicable person, Im horrified to think that he might actually be our president and even more horrified to think that there are people that legitimately support him
I always remember this video when ISIS claims a terror attack.

Those People scare me.
Christ, first that Youtube singer gets shot in Orlando and I'm like "thank god I was just leaving" then I wake up at home in Indiana with this news.

Are you people really using this thread to shit talk Trump? It's not even been a fucking day. Biggest mass shooting here, at least 50 people died, wtf.
perhaps we could try finding a way to curb ISIS' propaganda machine
Honestly their propaganda has been completely been nearly non-exsistant following a string of massive defeats over the month. They've had no real great battle, nothing to show for at all aside from handfuls of slaughter of innocent, yet many others are able to have their own machines go into the work, showing off the failure of ISIS and it shows considering their last great pr••••••a video was in mid 2015 and there's near silence on that part.

If you look at the aftermath of terrorist attacks, you can find that many of the them, pretty much the majority, have been under surveillance in the past.
Now the question is, do they just have a lot of people under surveillance, are they tied by law to act slowly, are they doing waiting on purpose or are they incompetent.
