These are overwhelmingly moderate muslims living in the West. Supporting LGBT rights in the West is safe. Islam does endorse trans people though.

Why not? You can be muslim and have a different sexual orientation other than straight or at least support them, it's just like anything else.
Actually i think i just found why he's so surprised.
I wouldn't be surprised if most what appears to be "moderate" Muslims actually cheer for Omar Mateen secretly.
Jesus Christ.
Actually i think i just found why he's so surprised. Jesus Christ.
Well you can never really know for sure.
Actually i think i just found why he's so surprised. Jesus Christ.
lmfao they're not even trying to hide the racism [editline]13th June 2016[/editline]
Well you can never really know for sure.
dude just stop
Why the fuck they wanna associate themselves with the Islam then anyway? "Hey, we just wanna be part of this system that is known for oppression and violence, but we wanna be like a good version of it. :-)"
Yes, let's ban all guns because that makes them instantly disappear! What an amazing idea! Also, anyone who owns a gun uses them to shoot people. Obviously.
You could set up a buy-back programe for like a year and after that year, if you own a gun and you do not have a licence that would be very selective and hard to get, you will be prosecuted as having an illegal firearm. That is my position based on looking at other countries in the world and how gun laws and gun violence relate to each other. No country in the world has as many mass shootings as america and no countri has as many guns per capita as america. They have a lot of guns and they have a lot of people using guns to mass murder people. Do you believe that menatly insane people should have guns? Do you believe terrorists should have guns?

"Hey, we just wanna be part of this system that is known for oppression and violence, but we wanna be like a good version of it. :-)"
Because religious beliefs are not inherently tied to violence? Because they wish to preserve their culture? Because it makes them feel like they understand the universe?
Do you believe that menatly insane people should have guns? Do you believe terrorists should have guns?
EU proves that both of these cases are happening irrelevant of gun availability.
Well you can never really know for sure.
You shouldn't generalize like that. Some muslims may not agree with certain lifestyles but that doesn't mean they wish harm on anybody, or even want to push their beliefs on them. A lot of people have been trying to bring that to light for quite a while now. Don't let violent extremists cloud your views of an entire culture.
Well you can never really know for sure.
Well I think you might be Facepunch's local terrorist sympathizer trying to throw us off. I mean we can never really know for sure. :downs:
What the hell? This doesn't seem right.
Muslims supporting and showing solidarity with the LGBT community = most unorthodox for white Americans!

Be that as it may, any Muslim who holds their own lifestyle even the tiniest bit more valuable than any other lifestyle is too extreme to exist. In my opinion. They have to recognize every other lifestyle/type of society as truly equal in value (or the lack thereof) in relation to their own.

You are too extreme to exist.

Do you believe terrorists should have guns?
There are more guns in this country than there are people in a lot of European countries. There are plenty of people that would rather keep there guns than register or turn them in. New york is a prime example, where you did have to register them and only a handful did. Would you give up free speech because a small minority spews hate speech and calls for death to gays? Would you give up freedom of religion to suppress a religious minority that follows violent practice's? Would you give up your right to unwarranted search and seizure so that the police could comb through homes unhindered in their search for terrorists? Don't get me wrong, America has a gun violence problem, to which a vast majority is linked to poverty, crime, and gangs. Even at 1000 arbitrarily defined mass shootings since sandyhook, that pales in comparison to deaths caused by things like blunt objects, drunk drivers, and medical mal practice. When a loud minority does something terrible, are you willing to sacrifice the rights of the majority in order to have a realistically speaking unsupportable layer of safety?
Quran (7:80-84) - "...For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds.... And we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone)
I wonder what his motivations could have been. It's a real pickle
Here comes the shit storm:
There's also this http://www.wnd.com/2016/06/orlando-mosque-tied-to-case-hillarys-state-dept-scrubbed/ Never heard of WND though. Philip Haney is the information supplier, according to the article. Only other sites I can find parroting about it are infowars and brietbart but I'll be on the look out for a source I know that people trust to comment, but the gist that's being passed around is:
The Fort Pierce Islamic Center, where Mateen worshipped several times a week, was under investigation by both the FBI and DHS as early as 2011 for ties to a worldwide Islamic movement known as Tablighi Jamaal which was linked to several terrorist organizations. But the investigation was shut down under pressure from the Clinton-ran State Dept. and DHS’s Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Office out of fear of offending Muslims, according to recently retired DHS agent Philip Haney.
[editline]13th June 2016[/editline]
I wonder what his motivations could have been. Taking quotes out of holy texts is silly. It's clear that modern religions pick and choose scripture at their leisure.
If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.
Wow Christians are so evil what are they up too??
Taking quotes out of holy texts is silly. It's clear that modern religions pick and choose scripture at their leisure. Wow Christians are so evil what are they up too??
The difference is that the bible never claims to be the direct unadulterated word of god but the fact that the Quran is the direct unadulterated word of god is kind of its entire point in existing
Here comes the shit storm:
She brought up Bernadino and Sandy Hook in her speech today. Tougher background checks would have saved those poor children even tho SH was a stolen rifle and the San Bernadino shooters got weapons from a friend. Dancing on warm bodies to push her agenda again. Classic Clinton.
The difference is that the bible never claims to be the direct unadulterated word of god but the fact that the Quran is the direct unadulterated word of god is kind of its entire point in existing
To be fair, I have never read the Bible or Quran. Though I spent a lot of time in catholic school so I know more about christian religion than I do Islam.
Taking quotes out of holy texts is silly. It's clear that modern religions pick and choose scripture at their leisure. Wow Christians are so evil what are they up too??
That's Old Testament. It's Jewish. It (Leviticus) is also supposedly by Moses. Moses isn't supposed to be God like allah is. IIRC he actually enraged God from disobedience, and was barred from entering "the promised land" according to the books. [editline]13th June 2016[/editline]
To be fair, I have never read the Bible or Quran. Though I spent a lot of time in catholic school so I know more about christian religion than I do Islam.
Ah well, for the most part Old Testament is adapted from Judaism and New Testament was Christianity based
To be fair, I have never read the Bible or Quran. Though I spent a lot of time in catholic school so I know more about christian religion than I do Islam.
Essentially, the Quran was supposedly written by Allah as the direct word of god in its original language via the angel Gabriel. It's really unfortunate but they kind of wrote themselves into a hole on that one, because you can never really go "b-but I don't follow that part" because the book itself says "this is the direct word of god" and you can't really ignore the word of god
Taking quotes out of holy texts is silly. It's clear that modern religions pick and choose scripture at their leisure. Wow Christians are so evil what are they up too??
So your example of religion not being related to people's actions is pointing to an example where religion is clearly and directly responsible for people's behavior? Like, that's the reason christians are homophobic to begin with. Because the Bible directly states that homosexuality is immoral.
I don't think modern Jewish folk buy too much into those either though. Hardcore Israelites might.
